A flashback to one of my most epic trips I have ever been on, the walk along the Kahurangi coast. This isn’t a track, nor a route, just meandering along the rocky bluffs and cliff faces that lay between the Kahurangi lighthouse and the Heaphy river. This photo is of Richard, my uncle, as we crossed up and over one of the last bluffs before heading 5km along porters beach and reaching the Heaphy bluff. 🏕🌎🌅
I loved this hike around Fernworthy, my favourite hike so far this year! 🌲 Also I might of mentioned that I finally broke the 10k distance with my last hike, that's a milestone I wasn't expecting to reach just yet. That's pretty exciting, I am hoping now to aim towards full day hikes and multi day hikes 👣
I talk all about my thoughts on reaching this milestone in my new blog post! The link is in the bio if you fancy a read ⛰

Loving the @pushdoctor #gogreener campaign! .
As a paediatrician I sincerely believe that embedding exercise early is fundamental to brain development, creativity, mental health and obviously physical prowess! For me and my family, it brings us closer together and I see a massive improvement in the childrens behabiour and mood if they've spent time outdoors! As a secondary result the Mister and I are calmer too! .
Children are far more sedentary and it is no wonder that increasingly children under 16 are diagnosed with obesity and type 2 diabetes! Nobody needs more time indoors!
I LOVE hiking and I am trying to pass my love onto my kids too! Living in the concrete jungles of London isnt easy but we have beautiful green spaces, lavender fields and outdoor areas I take my kids to! I've climbed several of the peaks in England (Snowdonia 8m post partum 💪🏼) and Im starting my kids young.
On a recent trip to Sri Lanka, we climbed Little Adams peak!! Its a 2hour climb up, mixture of terrain and 300 steep steps. My 4yo and 20month old walked 60-70% of the time.. in 30degree heat! We saw beautiful flowers, iguanas, butterflies of a thousand colours and tea pickers on the way up. My boys loved it and I am a SUPER proud mum!!
Just look at that view. It's 1141m high and the climb is through beautiful tea plantations!! I NEED to go back!!
When there is research to suggest that hiking increases attention spans, creativity and improves antioxidative capacity, why wouldnt I encourage them to #gogreener !!
Habits are learned from a young age so LEAD by example.

Weather looking good for the weekend so hope everyone gets to make the most of it!”

I will randomly pick 10 or 20(hell maybe all of you if I have enough) to send some free stickers too. That’s it. No strings attached. Comment by 4/28 @ 19:00pct for your shot. #mountainsoul
