MUSIC // See Petrushka this Friday night!
Originally a ballet burlesque in four scenes, Petrushka tells the fanciful and ultimately heartbreaking story of unrequited love between three puppets. Stravinsky's score is one of the most magical in literature; borrowing folk tunes, using bi-tonal chords and seductive melodies, stitched together with seamless orchestration.
Conductor Fabian Russell will lead the show at Conservatorium Theatre.
These guys weren't even interested in @stradbrokeislandphotography as they enjoyed their breakfast with a view 👀 Point Lookout on @straddieis is notorious for spotting wild kangaroos and wallabies 🐾 Find them channeling the relaxed Straddie vibes by the beach as they eat, sleep and repeat 😴🌾 #brisbaneanyday
The mindset I’ve been trying to channel during workouts lately. Easier said than done sometimes but if I tell myself enough times it might sink in!
Got this from the legend @benbergeron 🙏🏼 here’s the full quote...
“It’s not pain. Pain is stepping on a nail or losing a loved one. It’s just being uncomfortable. And you can sustain high levels of uncomfortable for a long time. Start accepting that a big part of being successful is being uncomfortable.” 🙌🏼
I also can’t recommend his podcast enough. Full of great tips and wisdom for training and life in general.
This show is back again, because kids love it! See The 78-Storey Treehouse during the next school holidays at QUT Gardens Theatre.
There's a scribbletorium, potato-chip storage facility and mysterious spy cows.
Stay tuned for our full school holidays guide, coming soon!
