It’s been a rough one today. She cut me deep with her words but I’ll still hold her while she sleeps, because I’m her mommy and nothing she says in the heat of the moment or because she’s tired will change that. #daughters#momlife#therewillbetears#naptime#loveher
Jonte Antonio is our office heartthrob. He is also the most suave and sophisticated uni student you will ever meet. Decadent and refined, he is the epitome of politeness. He speaks eloquently with mesmerising tone. He is a very fine gentleman. This tender aged 007 definitely prefers his martinis shaken, not stirred.
Jonte has been part of the Priority Life team for a year. He works with us part time while he completes his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Monash University. He will be graduating this year and leaving our team to complete an exchange year in Holland.
Forever smiling and willing to help, Jonte contributes so much to our team. Intelligent and thoughtful, his Gen Z brain is immense. He will often be found helping the Gen X’s in the office with our computers or raiding our naughty cupboard to satisfy his excessively demanding sweet tooth.
We miss him on the days he is not in the office and we will ALL cry when he leaves (true). We simply love this distinguished young man, our very own James Bond.
For the last seven years I have spent every Monday night in this building. I’ve been volunteering as a mentor with College Bound, Inc. and with overwhelming emotions, tonight is my last night as a partner, and SO VERY bitter sweet.
I’m proud of the accomplishment and dedication within this building from both the students and partners. DC can be rather “busy,” and offers plenty of entertainment, but these kids and volunteers, SHOW UP every week for each other, and it’s a priority. I became a mentor because I care deeply about education opportunity but with no grand illusions of my impact, other than simply presence and support; helping assist with what was familiar to me - navigating the demands and opportunities for higher education.
SHOWING UP, in the midst of the good, the bad, the ugly, the challenging, the devastating, the magnificent, the silly, the teenage years, ... it MATTERS. Now, I anticipate what this generation of students will do in the world. #rideordie#therewillbetears
Real talk, y’all. Not everyday is rainbows 🌈 and butterflies 🦋 last night I slept terribly and was up almost every hour. (For perspective, my watch tracks if I have stood up within every hour, when I finally got up for my workout at 4:30, I had already stood for 3 hours. I could have easily said maybe I’ll do it later. But I pushed through. I got dizzy and I paused to sit down. I modified so I had to stand a little less. It took me longer but I got it done. I was drinking tons of water to help with the dizziness and now I’m going to take allergy medicine to hopefully keep the dizziness away for good for now. Day 1 of peak week is done.
