Hey peeps please check out @craftycop post from today. Loki is a retiring K9 who served his community faithfully but due to a condition that is causing him to lose his vision, he's being retired. His human partner lovingly decided to adopt him so Loki can live out the rest of his days in familiar surroundings with a family he knows and loves. His town does not offer retirement help for K9s (some towns actually do!) Jessica is selling tshirts to help raise money for Loki's care. Please check out her posts. She's got more info on ways you can help. Loki will be ever so grateful. And so will I.
Went to D.C. today and saw a few memorials. This one is the World War II. We also saw Lincoln and the Vietnam Memorial... walking by all the names is undoubtedly a sombering moment. I can only think of all the fathers, brothers, husband, uncles and sons that didn’t make it back home... the quietest I have seen a crowd. #RipBrethren#thankyouforyourserviceandsacrifice
It’s been a tough week for the FDNY. I can honestly say as the wife of a firefighter I do not think about my husband not returning to our family when he leaves for work. I recently asked my husband if knowing what he knows and knowing he could die and leave behind our family would that thought stop him from performing his job. Without hesitation his response was “No.” That is what makes these men extraordinary . That is what makes these men heroes. RIP Lt. Michael R. Davidson, Master Sgt. Christopher Raguso, Capt. Christopher T. Zanetis #thankyouforyourserviceandsacrifice#fdny
A lone walk around the oldest Anglican Church with a contiguous congregation, in B.C. The church sits atop surrounding farmland that gently melds with the sea. All around lie peaceful, moss-clad graves in a ground dotted with tiny English daisies, naturalized crocus, daffodils, grape hyacinth and primroses and trees hanging with moss. Inside, there’s a framed roster of locals that served in WWI, a star designating their ultimate sacrifice. A guest book sits on a plinth carved in Salish style—perhaps by a local indigenous artist—I’d like to know. So many layers and branches of history in this little church & yard to explore and contemplate. #ststephensanglicanchurchsaanich#restinpeace#thankyouforyourserviceandsacrifice#travelbc#beautifulbritishcolumbia#churchyard#hipstamatic#loftuslens#love81film
Thirty-seven years ago today Patrolman Robert W. Martin made the ultimate sacrifice in line of duty. Martin was shot and killed by a murder suspect, a man he knew. Martin who was well respected in the community had been with the agency for nine years and was survived by his wife, son and two daughters.
Today we remember and thank him for his service and sacrifice. He is gone but not forgotten.
RIP Patrolman Robert W. Martin

DECEMBER 7. National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day #12072017 ❤️ PEARL HARBOR: A Prayer for Those who Fought to Keep Us Free by Mark Hereingshaw “Dear God, not everything that happens in your world reflects your goodness and grace. You have given us freedom to choose, and with that freedom sometimes we choose to do evil. Today we remember a time of great evil in our world – we remember World War II. We also remember those who stood their ground against great evil, those who fought here at home and on the battle fronts to insure that evil would not prevail. We thank you that in the hour of need you gave men and women the strength and resolve to stand, whatever the cost. May those brave souls who still remain here with us feel today your hand of favor and strength. In their last years here on earth give them renewed hope and an awareness of our gratitude for their bravery and sacrifice. May we never forget them, and may you honor them according to the grace you gave in those days and according to their response to that grace, then and now. In Jesus…” #injesusnameiprayamen 🙏 #december7#december7th1941#pearlharborattack#wwii#prayer#nationalpearlharborremembranceday#thankyouforyourserviceandsacrifice#godblessamerica 🇺🇸
