Workshop: Make Personalized Tea Towels with Katazome Technique
Sunday, May 13 (Mother's Day), 10am-
Saturday, June 9, 1pm-
Katazome is a Japanese traditional pattern-dyeing technique using hand-cut stencils.
We look at vintage stencils made of persimmon-dyed mulberry paper, introduce contemporary tools from Japan, and share the basic skills of how to use them.
You dye tea towels made of Japanese "tenugui" cotton fabric with Yamato Indigo Dye bath; cut your initials, simple logos, or designs on the plastic katazome paper; and print them with discharge paste. You will go home with a set of 4 tea towels. All materials are included in the price. To book your seats, click the link on profile and go to Workshop.
#furoshiki wrap was used to serve as a means for merchants to transport their wares or to protect and decorate a gift 🌸💙 Is there synchronicity when #surfriderfoundation Broward chapter volunteer Catherine gets a hand dyed #tenugui to wrap her present? I think so🌿🍃Please check @surfriderbroward and learn how to live with less plastic. Every 3rd Thursday at 7 there are meetings at @lauderale
