I lost to this amazing competitor and World Champion from Sweden so many times in my career. I’ve never hit this move from this position before. I never even drilled it previously before the Olympics. I just really wanted the win so bad that I zoned out and let instincts take over, knowing if I’d won I’d get the opportunity to wrestle a legend in the finals. First day of #practice with the #sword . I need to work on my #technique a good bit. I think I am pretty good at putting the sword back in the #sheath after a quick draw, though. Now to work on the draw/horizontal cut itself. Maybe YouTube has some good pointers....
Super impressed with @flora_fauna_chop at this evening’s powerlifting class.
We have been working on Aramide’s hip and ankle mobility over the last few months while building her strength using goblet squats. This evening she was able to squat to depth with the bar with minimal loss of position and only slight movement at her feet. There’s still some work to be done here but tremendous progress has been made.
We decided to take advantage of her long femurs, short torso and recent improvements in hip mobility by switching her from conventional to sumo deadlift resulting in a 100kg pull, a 20kg personal best. Outstanding :)
