Happy weekend everyone! 💥What’s everyone up to? 🙃Anything fun? 💃🏻 Who all is participating in @25infive’s #8inTwo mini readathon? 🙋🏻♀️
A good friend is coming by to paint my living room tomorrow and I’m SO excited as colors have been chosen and I need to decide on accent colors for furniture. Eep!! So I will be purging things and organizing to set myself up for shopping next weekend. But I WILL be reading too (shocker, I know!) 😏
Speaking of purging - any of these books a must keep and any of them a must toss?! Help a girl out! 💋 (I’m pretty sure they’re all must keeps though - I can’t believe I haven’t read these yet!! Grrrr!)
“@pdjeliclark's retro-afrofuturistic tale will keep you engrossed in a world of airships, New Orleans, alternative history, & renegade scientists. The language & setting is so authentic you'll taste the gumbo.” — Tade Thompson
Book mail! I love getting books in the mail. The anticipation is so fun! It's like unwrapping a birthday or Christmas present (only you bought it for yourself). Sometimes you don't know which book is hiding inside, so that secret makes it even more fun.
Right here I have "Unblemished" and "Unraveling" by Sara Ella. I have heard so many positive things about her books and was finally able to snag these online for a great price! She just released another called "Unbreakable". I am really looking forward to reading these! @saraellawrites
Alright friends, I am wanting to know which book did you read that changed your life? Or how you saw the world? I want to add some life changing books to my #tbrshelf ! And if you have a life changing whiskey, throw that in there too 😉 #🥃📚 picture is of my favorite bookstore in Houston, @beckersbooks ! #tbrshelf#bookworm#bookstagram#bookaholic#gltlove#gltbookclub
Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend.
Here is a stack of recently acquired books! I bought two of them (Forever, Interrupted and And Now We Have Everything), acquired three from a book swap (Sam Hell, The Last Equation and The Family Gathering: thank you @brittanyfiiasco!) and I won Chaos and Catastophe from a giveaway (thank you, @emmalidewij). Any favorites here?
Hello my bookish lovelies!!
Friday!! Woohoo! Any plans for the weekend? I hope all you wonderful mamas out there get spoiled rotten this weekend.. You deserve it! 💙💙
From @thebookishbox April's Storybook Beasts: Beyond a Darkened Shore by @jessleake!
The ancient land of Éirinn is mired in war. Ciara, Princess of Mide, has never known a time when Éirinn’s kingdoms were not battling for power, or Northmen were not plundering their shores.
The people of Mide have thankfully always been safe because of Ciara’s unearthly ability to control her enemies’ minds and actions. But lately, a mysterious crow has been appearing to Ciara, whispering warnings of an even darker threat. Although her clansmen dismiss her visions as pagan nonsense, Ciara fears this coming evil will destroy not just Éirinn, but the entire world.
Then the crow leads Ciara to Leif, a young Northman leader. Leif should be Ciara’s enemy, but when Ciara discovers that he, too, shares her prophetic visions, she knows he’s something more. Leif is mounting an impressive army, and with Ciara’s strength in battle the two might have a chance to save their world.
With evil rising around them, they’ll do what it takes to defend the land they love…even if it means making the greatest sacrifice of all.
I'm excited to read this one, not only does it sound great, but the book itself is gorgeous!! The Six of Crows ring is also from last month's box.. They might still have them in the shop, so check it out asap!!
Top of the Wednesday to you my friends..! I hope your week has been going well! 💚💚
One of the newest added to my tbr list, Starflight by @melissalanders!
Life in the outer realm is a lawless, dirty, hard existence, and Solara Brooks is hungry for it. Just out of the orphanage, she needs a fresh start in a place where nobody cares about the engine grease beneath her fingernails or the felony tattoos across her knuckles. She's so desperate to reach the realm that she's willing to indenture herself to Doran Spaulding, the rich and popular quarterback who made her life miserable all through high school, in exchange for passage aboard the spaceliner Zenith.
When a twist of fate lands them instead on the Banshee, a vessel of dubious repute, Doran learns he's been framed on Earth for conspiracy. As he pursues a set of mysterious coordinates rumored to hold the key to clearing his name, he and Solara must get past their enmity to work together and evade those out for their arrest. Life on the Banshee may be tumultuous, but as Solara and Doran are forced to question everything they once believed about their world—and each other—the ship becomes home, and the eccentric crew family. But what Solara and Doran discover on the mysterious Planet X has the power to not only alter their lives, but the existence of everyone in the universe...
Time/dimension and space travel are my favorites.. I love that it's a genre that can literally go ANYWHERE! No story is too crazy, because there is no limit to the possibilities of one's imagination!
Happy first of May everyone! And it’s the first day of my first time participating in a monthly challenge, #wethebooksmay18 💕
Day 1 is a TBR pic - I decided to just post a pic of my TBR shelves because I have a hard time picking out exactly what I’m going to read in a specific month and also a huge part of my TBR lives in my library holds which are all ebooks! So bask in all the books I own but haven’t read! Not included: Tower of Dawn because I am currently reading it and Iron Gold because my BF is reading it. Oh! and ACOFAS but I do not have that in my possession yet 😭 Also yes, these shelves are quite full yet I keep buying more books... 🤔 .
Quite fittingly I was tagged by @msstar_girl to do the #topfivetbr tag - how to narrow this down!
2) Kingdom of Ash
4) Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
5) Escaping from Houdini •
Buongiorno readers!
Regrann from @off_the_press 📸 - If you’re looking for a quick read that is gruesome and dark, that sparks a lot of questions that you can engage with other readers discussing.. then look no farther— I give you The Atrocities by @jeremycshipp . Being as short of a read (100 pgs) as it is, I can’t get much into the plot without exposing spoilers, but it is very much a mystery mixed with horror. There are questions if paranormal entities be psychological manifestations—and ultimately a question of perception vs reality (or more like insanity vs reality). **and hit me up if you have read it (or are going to). I need someone to talk theories with! .•
.• Check out my full rating and review on Goodreads or my blog (link in bio). .•
.• Thank you to @jeremycshipp and @torbooks for providing me with a finished copy in exchange for an honest review. .
Happy Sunday everyone!! It’s raining in Georgia which means reading in bed all day while listening to the rain! ☔️ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Down and Across is a book that my boyfriend bought for me! I’ve heard great things about it, and the concept of a professor in grit really fascinates me. I’m hoping to start on it soon after I sort through my TBR shelf! 📚 ⠀⠀ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #bookstagram#bookish#booklover#tbr#tbrshelf#bookstagrammer#books#downandacross#getyouaboyfriendwhobuysyoubooks
My TBR shelf! 📚 Right now I have them organised by genre but that changes constantly 🙈 As you can see there are some really popular books here that I still haven't read, but I'm making it my goal to get through them this summer 💪🏻
