So in what will most likely be my lifelong quest to figure out a way around hormones influencing my performance on a bike/in general life, I have recently started a new (to me) kind of birth control. And while it does not leave me crying 24/7 like other methods, I am definitely still hindered in my ability to deal with stress. Basically my base response to things is now flight/freeze instead of fight. AND LET ME TELL YOU, that is a highly non ideal personality change 1.5 week out from the start of race season. Have to stick with it though and see if I'm off pace on the bike or no when we go testing. At least I clearly still think I'm hot which is nice. In any case if any girls out there reading this found a way round becoming a different person for a week every month, please let me know.
