I look at this photo and think how incredible it would be if this was the pathway down to my cabin deep in the rainforest. A little retreat from the chaos of humanity.
Tasmania is littered with temperature rainforests, beautiful waterfalls, rugged mountains, amazing hiking/bike trails and amazing vistas at every turn 🍃🇦🇺
Day 199: This is Bert. Bert was previously owned by a petting zoo. He can’t be released in Tasmania due to the lack of food sources on the island. As he would likely not survive being transported to mainland Australia, he now leaves in the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where he sleeps 18-20 hours every day and gets all the food and care he needs. #wildlife#tasmania#australia#solotravel#bitchy_travel
Listed as a World Heritage site Port Arthur was used as a penal facility to send convicts to Australia. This is the old prison. Many of the buildings are now in ruins.
In 1996 34 people were shot in a massacre which contributed to a change in gun laws in Australia.
The whole place gave me the chills.
“By taking a material such as ash from some of these areas that have been devastated by fire and reconstructing that landscape, then reinserting many of the endemic species that are now extinct or on the endangered list back into this landscape, hopefully it raises questions about the treatment of our environment as a whole” to read more of this interview and fascinating artist click the link in our bio. 🙌 don’t forget to subscribe to issue 1 as well, head to our website for shop or check out our stockists . 👍words #claire_millett Photography Bewley Shaylor
I’m honoured to share with you that tonight that I was awarded outstanding contribution by a young person at the Tasmanian Suicide Prevention Network Life Awards.
It was a humbling experience being in a room full of amazing people who have all made huge contributions to the community.
I’ve always said that we can always do more and I aim to prove that in everything I do. As a reasonably young person I feel like I have have an increased responsibility to engage and connect with the younger generation and put myself out there and share my story in order to break down the stigma attached to mental health and suicide and bridge the gap between physical illness and mental illness
This is only the beginning of the journey and more excited than ever to continue to work hard to be at the forefront of change in the Tasmanian community.
I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off for uni and my trip to Queensland in less then a week. Having to gather together documents, get blood test and trying to fix accommodation mistakes. I am seriously wishing I was letting loose and having fun with my sissy friends 👯
Also I loved my hair this night!!!
Antique lovers, visit @wildesantiques in Perth—you might find an unusual gem! The store is located in Robur House, a two storey Georgian brick building (c. 1840), which has served as a home, shop, school, and bakery at various points in time. Thanks @sarahsydney26 for sharing this lovely shot with #MidlandsTasmania . 💎
