The Reverend Al Green @ Sydney Festival First Night in 2010.
My first time shooting with a borrowed Nikon. I had only had a bit of practice with Canon.
Al's music will never get old. It was a honour to see him live from the front row (I waited all day) and for free. Sydney Festival has put on some fantastic events over the years and First Nights were always my favourite.
My love of Al's music rubbed off on my sister and she ended up choosing Let's Stay Together as the song for her bridal waltz 😍
#tteokbokki why have I not tried this spicy Korean Street food before? I first sampled tteokbokki yesterday at the @sydneykoreanfestival & hello it was as if my tastebuds did a full 360 & backhanded me asking why?? This is a spicy Korean rice cake dish which I definitely am going to attempt to make at home. I was told this is a common street food dish you’ll find amongst the food markets in Korea. There are many variations of this dish but it all starts with the same ingredients & then you add to it. I could definitely taste the Korean chilli pepper paste - Gochujang. I love my spicy food so the heat did not deter me from enjoying this. The crunchy cabbage added texture. The thin slices of fish cake - Eomuk was a hidden surprise as I thought it was tofu. This is the kind of dish where the spice is kind of masked at the beginning & it’s a slow build up till the very end when you start to feel the bite & that’s when the chilli explosion hits you. There’s also a subtle sweetness to this dish too. Overall this is a recommended dish you must try. If I’m not working this weekend, I know I’ll be in my kitchen cooking up a storm. I definitely have Korean food on my mind...
