i’ve been so lucky these past few months to have my boyfriend give in to my incessant pleas to join me out for a run. he doesn’t like “not being good” at things (can’t say i blame him) but he’s been actively pushing through that + building confidence in himself + his abilities. 🏃🏼‍♂️

tonight he *crushed* a non-stop 3.5mi run at almost 1.5min faster than his usual pace - even after walk breaks!! 🙌🏻

Went out for 4 miles, but did my math wrong and turned around too early. It worked out for the best because it seemed like the pup started to limp at the end of mile 3.

I am so thankful that it is still in the 60’s here for my runs. I remember being so frustrated this time last year because we didn’t get a spring and we jumped right to summer. I’m also really enjoying my easy runs and even though I haven’t been hitting the paces I want to see in races, I am confident that with hard work over the summer I will see some faster numbers come fall 🌸🌼 4 easy miles today and I loved every bit of it! #runnersofinstagram #runnergirl #runners

I don’t always love working out. Some days are NOT pretty... but I LOVE how my workouts, my virtual community, and my trainer challenges me everyday to find the depth of my STRENGTH.
Before this community, I WOULD give up when it got hard. Having a community of women battling their hard right alongside me has kept me DIGGING DEEP for 2.5 years now. Grateful beyond measure for this family + support I never had before 💕 Today, I needed it more than ever. #livesownwithstrength

Even though I’m a fitness coach, I still buy training programs from people I admire.

Even though I’m a fitness coach, I still hire a triathlon coach when I have a specific goal I want to achieve.

We hold the belief that once we become proficient in something, we’re supposed to do it all on our own.

We applaud those who appear to be “self made”.
💦
We feel vulnerable when we ask for help, for fear of that request making us seem weak.
💦
I have no shame in sharing that I occasionally find myself in a fitness rut.
💦
I’m not afraid to admit that there are people out there who know more than I do and are better-equipped to get me to an outcome than I am.
💦
I don’t feel like any less of a badass because I train harder when I’ve got others to push me, whether they’re physically with me or not.
💦
And I definitely don’t feel like any less of a coach because sometimes I just don’t feel like writing my own programs.
💦
It’s okay to ask for help. Even coaches need coaches sometimes (and they also need bands for chin-ups! 😉)

Yesterday, I came home from work exhausted. I knew then and there that I needed rest and sleep😴and I would probably need to sacrifice my 5am workout today. So I did.🤷🏻‍♀️But I had every intention of getting it done this afternoon, so I did!💪🏻

I’m a firm believer in listening to your body, but without letting your mind take over.🤯I could have easily talked myself out of an afternoon workout because it was a long day, I needed to cook dinner, and so on. But that mindset isn’t getting me any closer to my goals, and I definitely had 30 minutes to sacrifice.

Today completed day 23 of my 80 day program and I’ll be honest... This is about the time I usually get bored😕and move on to something else. But I’m creeping up on phase 2 and with all the changes happening in my body, I can’t wait to see what the next 57 days have in store!😍

You can handle anything that this world will throw at you. No one said life was going to be easy. Just because you have one bad day or even a few, does not mean that it will not get easier. It will.

At the end of the day, you have to get rid of all the negative energy before you go to sleep. I can promise you. If you harbor all the anger you have because of a bad day and go to sleep. When you wake up you will have a horrible headache and it will also lead to another bad day.

1-2 hearts of romaine lettuce 
1 lbs lean ground turkey
1 can water chestnuts 
1/4 medium yellow onion
4 tbs hoisin sauce

Chopped green onion and sesame seeds - for garnish

Directions:
Brown turkey in a skillet until cooked through. Chop yellow onion and water chestnuts and add to skillet. Stir until warm. Add hoisin sauce and let sit on low heat until warm. Cut white ends off hearts of romaine. Separate lettuce leaves and plate. Pour turkey mixture into serving dish and garnish with sesame and green onion. To eat - fill lettuce leaves with turkey mixture and enjoy! 🤗

When I was in high school I hated running. If you would have told me that I’d be 23 with 6 half marathons and 1 full marathon under my belt I would not have believed you at all. I avoided running at all costs and never thought I’d pick up running shoes again after quitting the track team in 9th grade.

One day things just clicked on a run and I fell in love with running. I feel like I have become such a better person physically AND mentally because of running.
Some days it’s challenging, some days I feel like I’m running on clouds. But no matter what, I found a passion for something and I can continue to grow in the sport. Whether or not I reach my goal at my next race, I’ll always have something to work towards and that makes me really happy.

When I was in high school I hated running. If you would have told me that I’d be 23 with 6 half marathons and 1 full marathon under my belt I would not have believed you at all. I avoided running at all costs and never thought I’d pick up running shoes again after quitting the track team in 9th grade. Yet here I am, training my heart out for a race. I won’t win any prize money, I’m not sponsored by any companies, I just do it because I love it. One day things just clicked on a run and I fell in love with running. Went out for a nice relaxing bike ride after work.  Just tried to get to every street in the neighborhood ... funny things on my Apple Workout ➡️ ~ 1️⃣ without even looking at my watch ALMOST "biked the date" & 2️⃣ the elevation in the neighborhood (I told you guys I see 44's all the time) 😊

Where I finished my run today was right infront of a new home being built. I quickly pushed Emma into the garage so she could get dried off a bit and for me to snap my watch face picture. Yes, I take that shot every day after every run. But anyways, I asked Emma if she wanted to go play in the rain with me and she said no, but also told me to instead and she'd take the pictures. So I carried my butt back out in the downpour, and just let that rain wash over me. Emma thought I was so funny (hashtag mom win), and standing out there in it was quite therapeutic. That is until I saw the construction workers staring at me like I was a crazy person. 😳😂 I just laughed and said "It's just a little wet out here, we won't melt!" And guess what folks? Neither will you! So whatever weather you've got today, get out there and get active in it. Bonus: play in the rain too! 🌧❤️

Hey guys so this is me, sans makeup and sans filter. But totally in my element. Red faced, sweaty and hair in a top knot (because I refuse to wash my hair everyday and I think hairdryers are evil). I used to have the nickname Mulan because of this hairstyle 😜💁🏻‍♀️

I used to exercise as part of a numbers game, like how much exercise do I need to do in order to compensate for what I ate that day. And part of that was because of the industry I was in but I took that thought into my life afterwards. -
Now it’s not a numbers game to me anymore. I exercise to feel good and push myself. And I use different numbers to measure progress. For example I can now run 5min/km which for someone who is TOTALLY not an endurance runner I am super stoked with that. It’s not easy to find  a way of pushing yourself without it being coloured by the number on the scale or what you see in the mirror. But when I find myself doing that, I just remember how lucky I am to have a body that lets me run and lift weights ✌🏻 #kicthefilter

My ridiculous face is a clear indication of how that run went y'all. At first it was really hard because my body was all like 'hold up we're back to pushing this thing again?' but I just kept going. And going. And going. When I hit mile 5, I knew I was going for 8. I don't know what exactly changed but I was all in. Hit mile 6 and the sky opened up and it POURED on us! I mean full.blown.down.pour! Of course I didn't have the weather shield, but thankfully Emma brought a towel "just incase", so we pulled down the canopy, and kept going. I was not about to quit with just 2 miles to go just because of rain. Emma had just woke up from her nap so she was perfectly content and I'm perfectly crazy, so we kept on truckin'. 😂 "2 more worm! We got it baby! We can do this!" I hit mile 7 and y'all I kid you not, it started pouring even harder. I didn't even know it was possible for it to rain that hard, but my adrenaline was pumpin' because I knew I was going to get that 8. By this point I was so soaked: my shirt & shorts were plastered to me, my hair felt like I'd just showered, my feet and sneaks were sloshing because they were soaked, but I just kept chanting "We got it worm! We got it baby!" and then BOOM Garmin clicked back mile 8! So many of my stroller runs lately have felt like straight up GARBAGE, and it was soo glorious to have not only a great stroller run today, but to add a little distance in that weather! I felt/feel like a #BAMR 👊🏼
