After a rather lacklustre teaser trailer for the new Venom movie, today saw the release of a new trailer which, whilst the other was severely lacking in symbiote action, is packed full of new material. The film will follow Eddie Brock, a reporter who looks to find out what evil scientist is up to behind closed doors. Seems as though, like Spider-Man’s origin, he is infected by the very thing he’s investigating. This movie looks to touch on how he deals with living with the symbiote and wether he can stop it from taking over. Whilst unclear wether Spider-Man, who’s part of the MCU, will show up, there have been reports of Tom Holland on set. The film is set to star Tom Hardy as the anti-hero and boasts some other great names like Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson. What do you think of this new trailer? Pre-production began at East Los Angeles College in October 2013, with principal photography starting in May 2014 in Detroit. Additional filming also took place in Illinois and New Mexico, concluding that December.

The Blumhouse team are certainly doing their best to push beyond the horror genre. After already embracing the superhero fad by producing M Night Shyamalan’s sequel Glass. The world renowned horror studio has now given John Ridley, best known for winning an Oscar for best adapted screenplay for 12 Years A Slave, the task of making his The American Way comics series into a film. He originally created the concept with illustrator George Jeanty for their eponymous 2007 Vertigo graphic novel, which dealt with a team of 1960s superheroes called The Civil Defense. Given that the team is extremely diverse, this is no doubt another massive step forward and, after the recent Black Panther success, a timely one. What do you think of Blumhouse expanding beyond horror? Thoughts on more superhero films appearing on our screens? Let us know in the comments below. GHF

Iron Man (2008 film)
#IronMan is a 2008 American #superherofilm based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by #MarvelStudios and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Jon Favreau, with a screenplay by the writing teams of Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. It stars #RobertDowneyJr . as Tony Stark / Iron Man, alongside Terrence Howard, #JeffBridges , #ShaunToub , and #GwynethPaltrow . In Iron Man, Tony Stark, an industrialist and master engineer, builds a powered exoskeleton and becomes the technologically advanced superhero Iron Man.
The film had been in development since 1990 at #UniversalPictures , #20thCenturyFox , or #NewLineCinema at various times, before Marvel Studios reacquired the rights in 2006. Marvel put the project in production as its first self-financed film, with Paramount Pictures as its distributor. Favreau signed on as director, aiming for a naturalistic feel, and he chose to shoot the film primarily in California, rejecting the East Coast setting of the comics to differentiate the film from numerous superhero films set in New York City-esque environments. Filming began in March 2007 and concluded in June. During filming, the actors were free to create their own dialogue because pre-production was focused on the story and action. Rubber and metal versions of the armors, created by Stan Winston's company, were mixed with computer-generated imagery to create the title character.
Iron Man premiered in Sydney on April 14, 2008, and was released in the United States on May 2, 2008. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $585 million and garnering critical acclaim. Downey's performance as Tony Stark was particularly praised. The American Film Instituteselected the film as one of the ten best of the year. It was also nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects. Two sequels, Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3, were released on May 7, 2010, and May 3, 2013, respectively.

A reboot of the same name was released in 2015, ten years after the previous film.
Physicist Reed Richards is convinced evolution was triggered millions of years ago on Earth by clouds of cosmic energy in space and has calculated that one of these clouds is soon going to pass near Earth. Together with his friend, astronaut Ben Grimm, Reed convinces Victor Von Doom, his former classmate at MIT and now CEO of Von Doom Industries, to allow him access to his privately held space station to test the effects of a biological sample of exposure to the cloud. Doom agrees in exchange for control over the experiment and a majority of the profits from whatever benefits it brings. Reed brings aboard his ex-girlfriend and Von Doom's chief genetics researcher Sue Storm and her ex-astronaut younger brother Johnny Storm.
Superman (1978 film)
#Superman (informally titled #SupermanTheMovie in some listings and reference sources) is a 1978 #superherofilm directed by Richard Donner and based on the #DCComics character of the same name. The film is a British, Swiss, Panamanian and American joint venture, produced by #WarnerBros ., Film Export A.G., Dovemead Limited and International Film Productions. Superman features an ensemble cast of#MarlonBrando , #GeneHackman , #ChristopherReeve , Jeff East, Margot Kidder, Glenn Ford, Phyllis Thaxter, Jackie Cooper, Trevor Howard, Marc McClure, Terence Stamp, Valerie Perrine, Ned Beatty, Jack O'Halloran, Maria Schell, and Sarah Douglas. Disguised as reporter Clark Kent, he adopts a mild-mannered disposition in Metropolisand develops a romance with Lois Lane, while battling the villainous Lex Luthor.
Several directors, most notably Guy Hamilton, and screenwriters (Mario Puzo, David and Leslie Newman, and Robert Benton), were associated with the project before Richard Donner was hired to direct. Tom Mankiewicz was drafted in to rewrite the script and was given a "creative consultant" credit. It was decided to film both Superman and its sequel Superman II (1980) simultaneously, with principal photography beginning in March 1977 and ending in October 1978. Tensions arose between Donner and the producers, and a decision was made to stop filming the sequel, of which 75 percent had already been completed, and finish the first film.
The most expensive film made up to that point with a budget of $55 million, Superman was released in December 1978 to critical and financial success; its worldwide box-office earnings of $300 million made it the second-highest-grossing release of the year. Reviewers particularly praised Reeve's performance. It was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Film Editing, Best Music (Original Score), and Best Sound Mixing, and received a Special Achievement Academy Award for Visual Effects.

Filming took place in #LosAngeles and New York City from January 8 to June 30, 2001.
