My scraps have gotten a little out of control since I’ve been working on finishing projects. This #100dayproject is perfect for me to keep the scraps at bay! #misserincrafts2018#Repost @wendyfranczak with @get_repost
Hey friends! I was thinking... how about we do #the100dayproject together! We could each work on our own Scrap Vortex quilt! (If you don't know the tutorial, check out @crazymomquilts blog! Swipe to see mine!) I'm going to start tomorrow April 3 with more scrap gathering and sewing pairs- atleast one pair together. Repost or comment below if you're with me. We can share our progress by using #scrapvortex100DayProject
Finished the binding on this quilt on the ferry today! Pretty windy out on the deck, but couldn't resist snapping some photos ☺ This is my third quick quilt this year made entirely from fabric I have on hand. #stopstashingstartsewing#workingmystashoff @stashfabrics
Removable tucks for when he grows taller...why, yes I did that on purpose! Thus the intentional design element button in photo 2! I may have accidentally added 4 inches to the length when I glanced at big brother's measurements 🤣Well, of course I could have just cut it shorter but what about that cute coordinating hem! Waste not want not! Sewing while having a severe headcold has its hazards but at the end I got them done and the two oldest have their pjs headed their way! #starwarsandbatman#pajamas#sewingfailsaved#sewyourstash2018#stopstashingstartsewing
What a sweet bundle of fussy cut doors + a super sweet extra fabricpiece from Anne @annemarierallen. I have to admit she got me at the snoopy piece....my hubby and I exchanged snoopy cards throughout our dating (4 years...snail mail people!). This has been so much fun and I'm really looking forward to being able to sew soon! Headcold madness has kept me down lately! #stopstashingstartsewing#sewingavillage#fussycutdoorswap
I told myself that if I bought the new @heatherrossinsta Kinder fabric that I was going to have to use it sooner rather than later, otherwise I’ll hoard it forever. I still have Briar Rose and Tiger Lily, so I’m thinking one big quilt with all 3 lines is in order. Now all I need to do is find the time to chop it up. ❤️
Today’s #igquiltfest is fast finishes.
Over the years, I’ve learned that simple patterns and mostly charm sized squares go together incredibly fast for a quilt. I weren’t ahead and pulled the fast projects from the last few months to show the similarities as well as differences with them. The first photo is actually on my longarm right now, I just haven’t had a chance to take an updated photo. But everything else is done and has been gifted or is currently being used in my house.
Warning-tears ahead...tissues might be needed.
The 2nd finish from #windyloutybeeisland18 . This quilt was half started by my mother and I finished it. It’s going to my nephew as a grandma quilt. I can’t even imagine what she would have made for my nephews, but since I had a limited supply of projects she started, I had to use what we had. I showed my sister a photo of the quilt top and she thinks Isaac will love it. Phew
It’s a batik quilt and I do still have borders to put on. But all in all, the perfect grandma quilt for our sweet boy.
the very purple quilt is complete! More photos and an estimation of how many hours it took me to make it on the blog today. Thanks for all your kind words and thanks for cheering me on as I raced toward a finish. I appreciate it very much! 💜
I'm cooking, I'm cutting, I'm cooking....huh, what? The Olympics have started! Change of focus but thinking it will all get done one way or another! ❤️ discovered that I can cut small pieces on my portable cutting board (while watching figure skating👍🏼) All fingers intact! 😉 #stopstashingstartsewing#sewingmystash2018#valentinessewing . "Note to Self: tomorrow is a sewing day"! Yay 😃
First finish of 2018! One of my quilty goals this year is to turn a good chunk of my stash into actual quilts 🤔. I'm choosing to make simple throw sized quilts that sew up fast and don't produce many scraps. Here's the first one. #stopstashingstartsewing#workingmystashoff @stashfabrics
It’s really purple!!! Started this at around 10:30 this morning. Finished the top right before 6 this evening. It measures 63” x 72” or so. 9” finished blocks.
This will be for a friend’s sister, who is battling cancer. She needs a comfort quilt while she goes through chemo. 💜
