“Hoy me levanto sin pensar / Voy a dejarlo todo y luego yo / Pongo la mano en el aire, echo a volar / Sin complicarme la vida / Disfrutar y yo / Yo quiero más, quiero más / Es como quiero ser / Nada más, nada más / Ni un minuto que perder”
One of my favorite shots of nyc, I would consider this a great postcard if someone sent it to me, main reasons being:
a) It represents hope, and how even a little of it can light up even the darkest of situations. I would have loved to send it to everyone in the world right after last year’s elections.
b) It’s kinda funny, a woman trapped on a small island represents liberty to so many people, but I still am fond of the statue. It’s nice to think of how it was sent over from France in a few hundred pieces and built part by part. It makes me think of all the small steps people take towards total liberation, if we all focus on making sure our lives make the world at least a little better, together we can build the paradise we all wish for deep down.
c) The darkness represents obstacles, desperation, and loneliness, but the photo guides everyone towards the more hopeful/positive aspects of the image.
