Celebrating my 1 year anniversary at Japonessa!🎆
#throwbackthursday to my first printed cocktail at Japo, with an upgrade:
"You Gotta Be Squiddin'Me"
1.75 oz jalapeño-infused Reposado tequila
1 oz Minato Harbor Nama Genshu
0.25 oz lemon juice
0.25 oz creme de cocoa
1-2 drops of squid ink solution
1 dash of chocolate bitters
2 dashes of orange bitters
Shake & strain into coupe
Garnish with orange twist
We had to try it at least once...pasta with squid ink.
It's not as pungent as the color suggests but stains your teeth and lips 10 times worse than the reddest wine and darkest espresso so don't plan anything after dinner unless you brought your toothbrush.
Was curious about squids, and googled 'squid fun facts' to go along with my drawing. All of these are news to me, and super fascinating! -
