Just last week I was talking about driving for Lyft to make some extra cash... a few days later my manager asked me if I’d be willing to do some overtime, about 5 hours a week... this was completely out of the blue!!! My company is very against overtime right now!!! So, I think in my own woo woo way, that because I put it out there in the air that I wanted extra $$$ and was willing to work for it—the universe provided!! Thank you, God, you’re a real one! 🙌 #extramoney#snowball#debtfreejourney#debtfreecommunity
Since my layoff 2 months ago, I've put aggressive debt payments on hold. I've been strategically trying to stretch my severance income in hopes that it will last until I find another job. .
Had I been working during this 2 month period, my after-tax income would have been a little over $8,800. Although my husband works, his income is much less than mine was. Our bills required all of my income and most of his (or so I thought). Even though I haven't seen any zeros (payoffs) in a while, I'm still paying a little bit more than the minimum on my smallest debt so I'm still doing some version of the snowball and I've learned how to spend much less at the grocery store. I'm proud to announce that I still have the majority of my severance in my savings. 💪🏾🙏🏾
