One of the best eco kitchen swaps we ever made was not even our doing! My mom gifted us these metal BBQ skewers several years ago, and they have become one of our most favored cooking tools of all time! We use them all summer long, and not only are they less wasteful than the bamboo skewers, they are easier to use. Since they aren't round, the food doesn't spin around when you try to flip them, and you don't have the added step of soaking them.
Next time you need to get a gift for an eco-conscious BBQ lover, I highly recommend something like these. I looked online and they range in price from $12-$30 for a set of a dozen or so.
What an experience! Known as the master of grilled meat, he jokes with you and talks to each one of the customers. It’s a very personal experience! They show you and tell you what meat it is. 9 course sticks as a set menu: watercress/radish for appetizer, then a stick of Wagyu beef, chicken intestines, pork belly/spleen/liver/heart/tongue/shoulder, chicken. No photos/videos allowed in the place so the sneaky picture quality is not the best. No soft drinks or water, only alcoholic drinks with lemon sour being the most common/popular. Cash only. Total price was 17,520¥ for the six of us, each drink refill was charged. Hard to know the exact breakdown. Overall, if you’re adventurous and can eat anything and experience local food. #yakitori
Tried skewer hot pot for the 1st in Shenzhen. Grab which skewers 🍢you want from refrigerators holding all different types of skewers (meat, veggies, offal, tofu, etc). You’re charged at the end based on how many skewers you had. People typically eat 35-50 per person. We were weak (couldn’t handle the spicy chili Sichuan broth!!) and had to stop at less than 20 skewers per person. 😆🌶🤯🌶😵🌶 #chinesefood#sichuanfood#shenzhen#tinyurbansz#skewers#hotpot#火鍋 #🍲 #spicy#chili #🌶
