One of our Spirit Specialists has been visiting the classic @dalmore distillery for training and tasting with the distillery manager.
Here is the classic triple sherry cask finished Dalmore 15yr being tried on the shore of Loch Morie where the whisky starts it's life, the distillery lorry and the range of whiskies laid out for tastings!

Finishing my day with the Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique and Sherry Cask. I’ve noticed they both taste more balanced and refined when its had time to oxidise in the bottle, add a few drops of water and this dram is perfect.

Writers Tears Cask Strength 2018 edition! A blend of single malt and single pot still whiskeys matured in bourbon barrels and bottled at 53% ABV (106 US Proof) and it's Actually limited. Never mind last night's 15,000 bottles of cask strength Jameson per batch. This is a single batch for the year with only 5,175 bottles available! Happy hunting finding these!

Oban Distillers Edition
For a Highland whisky, you'll be surprised what it has to offer!
Finished in Montilla Fino sherry casks it gives the Oban a very complex character.
As you breathe in, the fruitiness of grape juice and orange zest wrestle with the sea breeze and a pinch of smoke.
As you drink, your taste buds are flooded with rich fruits, before a wave of brine and malt take over.
The bold beginning and middle are met with a modest finish. Coffee, oak and a malt biscuit close the lid on this one. #whisky#oban#whiskey#bourbon

쿨일라로 제일 많이 불리우는 위스키입니다.
영어로는 Sound of islay
여기서 Sound 는 소리가 아닌,
해협의 의미라고 하네요.
국내에선 지명도가 높지않기에
다소 생소하신 분들도 많을 것 같습니다.
증류소를 대표하는 제품인
쿨일라 12년은 100% 버번 캐스크로
숙성되었으며 아일라 위스키답게
피트향이 치고 올라옵니다.
다른 아일라 위스키에 비해
피트향이 강한 편은 아니고 오히려
부드러운 편에 속하지만
아직 피트향에 익숙치 않은 분들에게는
조금 낯설게 느껴질수도 있어요.
첫맛에는 '달다'라는 느낌과 동시에
아오리, 오렌지 등의 시트러스한 향이
개인적으로 좋아하는 바다내음도
진하게 올라와서 맘에 드네요.
[Legendary 1965 Highland Park Dragon]
N: Old whisky splash! Then quickly note of dates, and strong real-sherry influence. Quite dry I must add, over time, fermented tea leafs, fruity in the sense of “star fruit”.
P: Slightly peated (tho’ more like the Highland peat instead of HP’s distinctive Orkney peat), which is not in the nose. Then “kam-fu” (Cantonese: 甘苦), and dark chocolate. Not so dry in the mouth.
F: Finish is short. Still the kam-fu, and quite herby too.
As a HP fan, it’s hard to resist myself from trying this bottle. I’m glad to have tried it.
