“Every other civilized nation in the world has been compelled to care for its forests, and so must we if waste and destruction are not to go on to the bitter end, leaving America as barren as Palestine or Spain.” - John Muir

NO to LNG export!! More fracking and drilling would be harmful to our air quality and put further strain on water resources. All scientific evidence supports leaving the rest of our fossil fuel reserves ALONE. This pipeline would also require the seizure of land against property owner wishes and has already been rejected TWICE by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. #stopjordancove#jordancove#conservation#noLNG#genZ#sierraclub
Ice Age National Scenic Trail
Valley View Segment (partial) 1.3 miles
Verona, Dane County
The Sierra Club and Ice Age Trail Alliance held an evening hike at the Valley View Preserve, which concluded with a beautiful sunset behind Blue Mounds. The Ice Age Trail segment goes for a mile between Moraine Ridge Road to Noll Valley Road, and we made a loop on a few side trails to make the hike nearly 3 miles. Along the way we spotted a bluebird among the oak/hickory savanna and shooting star in the prairie.

@jessnarcissa shares with us her experience with nature and how she feels. "I love visiting the Sierra mountains to be in nature and specifically to be among the Sequoias. They are so majestic and never fail to fill me with awe and optimism in assuring me that it is possible to continue growing strong despite thousands of years of storms, fires, logging and other atrocities. As John Muir once said, they are like the “Gods” of the forest. 💚" #nature#adventure#sierraclub#earth#trees#exprience#explore#johnmuir
*EDIT* Life and death. Morbid, yet magic. Feeling fortunate to witness Mother Nature in full circle...or so I thought. This beauty may not have been taken by natural causes, but because of us. Mankind. Rising temperatures. Ships. This 35’ adult female gray whale is the *FIFTH* whale to wash ashore in the San Francisco area since March 2018 (thanks for the news article @amypine76). We have to do better. For them. For us. For future generations. #tennesseevalleybeach#sanfrancisco#saveouroceans

The trailer is up! Here's a look at the documentary we worked on for the @SierraClub, premiering June 5th in LA. I was the colorist on the @tinydinoagency post-production team –– which wasn't too hard with all this gorgeous @transitpictures footage!
Join us on 6/27 for a screening of #ReinventingPower , the groundbreaking new documentary that will take you across the country to meet people whose lives were changed by #cleanenergy . Produced by @SierraClub and @TransitPictures, this film explores clean energy from innovation to installation. RSVP: bit.ly/GARPScreening
The Sierra Club is an organization that protects the environment, including shutting down coal plants, establishing parks, and protecting wildlife/animals.
All in all, they are a great place to start with wanting to learn more about the environment and the impact we have, often negative. However, we can turn our acts into positive ones by making a change.
I've had the wonderful opportunity to talk to members of the Sierra Club, including a former LT teacher. They were so kind in helping me find the right volunteer opportunity for me. If you don't know where to start, they'll help you. I'm happy to say I plan on volunteering in the summer as well.
There's a link to their website in my bio.
This weekend I went on my first camping trip. I've spend my entire adult life trapped in the city and this experience helped me realize how important it is for my mental health to experience the outdoors. I only snapped a few pictures before ditching my phone. #militaryoutdoors#sierracluboutings#sierraclub#chattoogariver
