April's Rue Madame Woman, @madeleinethompsoncashmere, never imagined a career in the fashion industry. But after graduating with a degree in law, she fell into a fashion PR role and went on to work as a fashion buyer for Seibu.
Realising there was a big gap in the market for good quality, but also fashionable, cashmere, she launched her eponymous brand. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Describing herself as an "unintentional entrepreneur", Madeleine says being driven to work on her own brand, and being able to focus on her own achievement is a real blessing. She also feels lucky to have met someone who shares her passion for cashmere - her husband. #RMwoman
I LOVE everything about the month of April! That’s when you’ll see flowers bloom, the leaves start to turn green, you’ll see more colours in the streets and there is a general lift in people’s moods as the season transitions from Winter!
I’m not in any temperate countries now, however, that’s the feeling I brought home with me whenever it’s this time of the year 😆 Also, it’s my birthday month! 😁 Funny how I tend to enjoy my birthdays more when I left school. As it’s the tail end of April, it coincided with the mid-year exam preparations all through my primary and secondary school life! It gets better when I was done with "mandatory education".
This year takes the cake! Can’t get any better when one gets to learn from Hemang Pandit and Garrain Jones in a span of a week! #thankyoulord#thankyouuniverse 🙏🙏 GJ for one, we’d never thought he’d make his way to Asia! There were so many take-aways, and the impact had me revisiting notes I took in one of his live broadcasts last year. A few of my GJ faves: 🔸Beat the 🐉 at the End of the Round (video game reference): If you’re not progressing, it means you might be failing the same test over and over in your life. 🔸Don’t leave a #personaldevelopment book UNTIL you get Results. The magic is in the Activities of the book! 🔸YOU are a Powerful Representation of who your child will marry one day. 🔸Be Inspired by knowing we are a higher version of ourselves that we've yet to reach. 🔸What’s in your GPS?
I’m looking forward to see the person I’ll grow to be in the next 5 years! #throwback#betterversionofme#bettereveryday#lovewhatido#dowhatilove#grateful#gratitude#CoachWendyMWee#hphf2400#sgigers#sginstagram#igsg#instagramsg#igsginstagram#vscosg#aprilbaby#awesomevibes#onwardandupward
Rather than put an Italian in charge, the Les Amis group (which owns Shaw Centre's La Strada Ristorante) stuck to its guns to invest in its home-grown talent, sending Chef Dalton Fong on immersion trips in Italy. It must have worked, because the revamped La Strada is looking sharper than before, and its cooking more Italian than it's ever been. Visit the link in our profile to read more.
Despite being orphaned at 15 and growing up in the Great Depression, Ella Fitzgerald overcame adversity to become one of the greatest singers the world has ever known. Born on this day in 1917, she’s a true inspiration and the embodiment of the Rue Madame Woman. 💪 #RMwoman#EllaFitzgerald
Sometimes the lines may be disconnected but you still gotta keep it movin'.
(Btw, the lines appear this way because I attempted a wide selfie shot instead of the regular selfie. Whenever your wide selfies have errors, they result in interesting pictures, lol!)
Having lived three years in #sg , i have done a fair amount of research on where to buy Indian groceries and veggies here. The number of shops stocking and selling these are huge. So there is always a lot of confusion when it comes to what is the best. I decided to share my buying experiences here on IG for the benefit of my Singapore followers. Anyone who knows me will agree that i m lazy when it comes to going out, especially in the hot sun. So i do not enjoy trips to the wet market and usually find ways to avoid it as much as possible. That's where online shopping comes into play. Bought my veggies this week from waangoo.com. And i must say, i m mighty pleased. The veggies are fresh. Swipe to see how fresh the Ponanganni looks. Everything comes individually packed and is neat and convenient to store in the fridge. Also no muthina vendakai or Murungakkai. The tender coconut is a winner! And everything was spot on. They don't have an app as yet. But they accept NETS on delivery. COD accepted too. So many wins here. And the prices are not too high. All in all, i wouldn't mind ordering again if they are consistent. Thanks @archkc for the recommendation da.
P. S. Will be sharing my reviews on other online portals from where i have bought groceries and produce in the next weeks to come.
Alan Yau is the man who made noodles trendy in the United Kingdom - if not the rest of the world - sending thousands to slurp up meals-in-a-bowl at the ground-breaking Wagamama chain of eateries that the Hong Kong-born restaurant-entrepreneur founded in 1992. Now, he's set to spread some of his culinary magic in Singapore with the opening of Madame Fan on April 24, billed as an "etiquette-free" fine dining lifestyle concept which will "usher in a new era for Chinese dining in Singapore". The perfect jumper and shorts combination for those sunny days. And your day will get even brighter when you notice the little doggy faces making an appearance! 😍 Paired with a handwoven bag by @thejacksonslondon. #ClemenceWorld
#Throwback to a behind the scenes shot from one of my #favorite short films ever because of how much I enjoyed working with the whole unit and how well they treated me. It was productive and memorable.
Throwing it back with a vintage feel. This asymmetrical skirt matched with a fun, frilled collar shirt by @clemenceworld delivers the casual-professional look we love so much. We even wear it on the beach! 😉 #ClemenceWorld
