My copy of Mooncallers: Stars Wake by @theledabunny finally arrived and I’m in love. 😍 This is a self published dark fantasy filled with beautiful artwork, maps, and no doubt writing too. 🌙✨The author has written THREE languages for this book, and all illustrations are completely original. I’m blown away at the work that was put into this. Congrats, Leda!

"Everyday, people across the world go naively about their business having never experienced breakfast. Statistics show that, more than ever before, less people are making time to put together a breakfast before they start their day. Witnesses have reported excuses like not having enough time, complain about its complexity, or doubt its importance. However, Police have recently uncovered evidence of a select few coming disturbingly close to what experts are referring to as a ‘near-breakfast experience’ —and have returned to tell the tale.” Excerpt from @timlampe piece “Incredible True Story of One Man’s Near-Breakfast Experience”, now up on the site. "There I was, in my bed, freshly woken from my slumber, when I looked up to see a glowing light appear. I initially thought daylight had arrived, but the warmth and love that radiated from it was unquestionably different, something I had never experienced before. I felt my body stiffen; I was completely unable to move. And nothing could have prepared me for what happened next.
What emerged from that white light, I'll never forget it. It was a plate piled high with breakfast items: Eggs Benedict with a side of bacon and hashbrowns, and a tall glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice. A pair of flawlessly poached eggs, each perched atop its own circle of ham and perfectly toasted cheddar biscuit, thickly blanketed with glistening hollandaise sauce. Grease still sizzled on the bacon’s browned edges, and the hashbrowns were fried to a crisp golden perfection.” Excerpt from @timlampe piece “Incredible True Story of One Man’s Near-Breakfast Experience”, now up on the site. Desk chaos and fevers. Keeping things balanced can be tricky—especially when the sickness strikes. I had a lot to get done today—so I forced myself out of bed and actually got ready (despite my body’s inner cries to just stay in bed). Sure, working from bed is a-ok when necessary. But with deadlines looming, I knew I would be more likely to power through the work if I dressed for the job.
And now? The work is done and it’s back to bed with a book. What are your #wfh productivity tricks when you’re under the weather?
Just like life, zines aren’t always a perfect and put-together thing. Being handmade and self-printed, these guys are bound to have flaws every once in a while, which I think is a beautiful thing! Here at #hiddenzineproject , we believe in the acceptance of the weird, confusing, and sometimes messy aspects of every day life. We hope our zines offer a little escape and creativity to the lives of everyone who has stumbled across one! We have some big stuff planned here at HZP, so share our page and continue the search! #zine#art#photography#granburytx#book#selfpublished#texas#acceptance#love

I wake up,
your side of the bed
to bring sunlight
to these bones,
bones of my frame shaken
by violent winds
and dimmed stars
that used to
sew our eyes shut,
to the universe.
And now I lay here,
and beg for someone
to blow my dandelion bones
careening them into the sky
until I’m void of anything
but battered skin
and intricate bruises

so that I can finally become

An incredibly abstract story,
is a poetic memoir of the
irrefutable strength between
two souls that were never meant
to last through the hourglass
of time. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
