What a difference a day makes! Yesterday we had snow (got about 5 total, though it kept melting...which is fine by me) and today was sunny an 60. This is a Chinese elm, been with me for a few years now and is always a happy camper.
Diamond is considered to be the hardest natural material but it can turn flexible when grown in extremely thin, needle-like shape.
Researchers from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) demonstrated that diamond needles - about a thousand times thinner than a hair strand - can be bent and stretched up to nine percent without breaking. The needles can return to their original state once the pressure is removed.

Finally, I want to present my favorite work for today. This is part of my diploma project🎓, but for real organisation. (yeah, who don’t know, I’m a graphic designer, now officially📃😁) This is redesign of international student conference in Odessa Medical University🏥. I become really happy, when I have an opportunity to combine my two interests of science 👩🏼🔬 and design👩🏼🎨 in one project, which includes also 3d renders and landing-page. The most complicated part was solving social problems🤷🏼♀️, but not drawing complicated illustrations, who would have thought . This brand will become alive slowly and I wish this finally happened. ☺️

Man, STEVE is definitely good looking. It's gotta be the name.
The Earth is our home. Let's do our best to live our lives in a way that benefits our home. Spend time outside if you need to be reminded how therapeutic it can be. Happy Earth Day 2018. #earthday2018#nasa#Repost @nasa (@get_repost)
Have you seen STEVE? Glowing in purple & green colors, a new celestial phenomenon, known as STEVE, is caused by charged particles from the Sun colliding with Earth's magnetic field.
The display was initially discovered by a group of citizen scientists who took pictures of the unusual lights and playfully named them "Steve." Scientists have since learned more about the purples and greens, and have given it a more accurate name: Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement, which can still can be shortened to STEVE.
A citizen science project called Aurorasaurus, funded by NASA and the National Science Foundation (@nsfgov), wants your help gathering photos so they can learn more about this mysterious phenomenon. Aurorasaurus tracks appearances of auroras — and now STEVE — around the world through users submitting reports and photographs directly on its mobile app and on aurorasaurus.org.

(I meant to post this sooner) Yesterday marked the end to a beautiful year as the President of the Plant and Soil Science Club. I have the photos from a year ago and then today posted...
Being President of this club taught me that delegating is important in order to function. Towards the end of this year, I started to take on more tasks rather than distribute them and that slowly made me start to crack under the weight; but overall, I was still happy to be leading the club! Starting out, I did not I want to be the President; at elections, no one wanted to nominate themselves or those that were nominated declined the position. In my mind, I was forced into the position and did not believe myself ready.
It wasnt until the first Fall meeting that I realized I liked public speaking and leading others. I had always believed myself to be the mediator to a group or a good VP--someone who had some authority, but never made the overall decision. This year helped me to find a new passion for myself that I didn't know I had. I am thankful for being placed in this role and would not hesitate to repeat it! I will miss the club dearly when I leave, but I know it will continue to grow with the new leader it has. Good luck to them all! ❤ #plantscience#leadership#clubpresident#collegelife#thankful#blessed#horticulture#science#plants#iloveplants#plantobsessed#club#classof2018
Make #earthday#everyday ! This is right near my house where I walk my dog Petey everyday. For the last few months we’ve been picking up the trash we’ve seen maybe every other walk.
It’s fucking crazy how much trash this 1/2 mile stitch of land catches. This is our 14th bag in less than 2 months..😳 with every wind 💨 gust comes a new heap..Its a small sample size but I tell ya what, I bet 50% is McDs packaging or Starbucks cups. Cmon human race, we can do better right?! -
Petey says don’t litter, it makes him sad 😔 (swipe👈) #mindset#earthismyfavoriteplanet#science
I’m one happy science nerd! Our new life cycle unit starts tomorrow and we’re doing frogs and toads. Guess who happened to find a lot of toad eggs?! I can’t wait for the kids to see them! 🐸🐸 #toad#teacher#science#nerd
