STOP KILLING SNAKES! In South Carolina, killing, harming, or harassing any mammal, bird, reptile, or amphibian, except by permit issued by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources for designated Game Management Areas is unlawful. Snakes eliminate unwanted rodents from backyards without the need for traps or poisons. They have a huge impact on balancing the ecosystem they occupy and pose no threat to humans unless stepped on or startled. We are living in their backyard that they have called home for millions of years until humans came along and reduced their habitat while also limiting their food supply. They are trying their best to survive our over-populated world and are more scared of us than we are of them.
If you see a snake in the Charleston area, give it some distance and call our local reptile removal specialist Damian at 843-697-5539. He will capture and relocate your non-venomous and venomous snake problem free of charge without any harm to these beautiful reptiles. If you have a snake that is interested in your nesting bird’s eggs, @wbumtpleasant has snake guards and baffles that deter them from entering your birdhouse.
In the top pic my lil baby was so underweight and sickly looking. He wouldn't eat and was in such bad shape. Then today only a week later the difference is amazing. I love my lil pup and im so happy he's eating and loving life now. #savethereptiles#leopardgecko#geckohealth
Hey, guys. Andrew and I (Amber) love reptiles so much and there is nothing like spreading awareness to save other reptile lovers from losing their beloved baby to a horrible illness: Metabolic Bone Disease or MBD. MBD "is a disorder of bone strength, usually caused by abnormalities of minerals (such as calcium or phosphorus), vitamin D, bone mass or bone structure. The most common metabolic bone disorder is osteoporosis." Reptiles who get MBD suffer from pain and find it hard to move. The symptoms include swollen limbs, bowed legs, swollen and softened jaw (rubber jaw" and round head, inability to climb, walk, or lift the trunk of the body off the ground, lumps or hard bumps on the limbs or above the spine, etc. ( http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=17+1796&aid=3581). To prevent this, please, please, please give your reptiles calcium powder with Vitamin D3 in it. ZooMed has a pretty inexpensive and decent size container on Amazon for no more than $7 I do believe. When we got Scarlett, the pet store owner told us that with proper care and a calcium filled diet, she would recover and live a perfectly healthy life. However, that was not the case. Her previous owner did not treat her well at all and we suffered because of it. I would hate for anyone else to go through this so please do research on what exactly your reptiles need. #reptilesofinstagram#reptiles#reptilian#beardie#beardeddragon#savethereptiles#lovereptiles#healthy#healthyliving#metabolicbonedisease#mbd#itsucks#scarlett#superred#gorgeous#beautiful#red#sadness
