I hope your Valentines Day was just the way you like it, and that your life is full of love in any form until the next one. My Chris and I don’t really ‘do’ Valentines Day, but he did get me a gift - a pack of Arnotts assorted cream biscuits!! The dream!!
(By the way, this is a photo of Bree and Josh - you can see more of these cuties on the blog right now. Link in bio!)
What a start to 2018! How’s your year going so far? I’ve been quiet online, but I’ve been shooting shooting shooting since I got back from my trip; a New Years Party for a lovely commercial client, an epic family reunion session and a gorgeous ‘micro’ wedding yesterday. Today I’m bringing my cat home and it will be back to business as usual - I can’t wait to say hello to my beautiful Brisbane again!
This is not a photo of Beautiful Brisbane, but of Beautiful Singapore after a steamy rainy evening.
Happy 2018! I love a good fresh start, blank journal and resolution! I know a lot of what we set out to do with our year falls by the wayside after a while, but it’s always a good thing to set your intention and work on yourself, right? So even if you fall off the wagon, just get back up, revisit your goal, readjust if you need to and go for it again. I plan to check in with myself every month when I’m setting up my bullet journal and check where I’m at, what I need to do and where I’m going wrong. What are you looking forward to changing in 2018? Can’t wait to see what we can all do with this new year - it’s a big ball of possibility right now!

This year I’m spending Christmas in Port Dickson, Malaysia with lots of my man’s family who’ve all travelled to be here. Usually at home we keep things pretty chill and simple though! How are you celebrating? Do you go all out and deck the halls or do you keep things simple and small?
Real talk! This looks like one of those glamorous ‘don’t-you-wish-you-were-strolling-through-an-exotic-city’ type travel photos, right? Let me tell you how it really went down.
We were only in Georgetown for 2 full days and Chris and I both got travellers stomach pretty fast - our soft Australian stomachs are weak! We spent the first day by the pool, but when we travel we love to get out on foot and really SEE the area so on the second day we took just one hour to stroll down Penang Road with my camera. I saw this stretch of pastel archways and died a little inside because I really wanted a photo there - but I looked like death! No makeup, dark circles, unstyled hair. Chris grabbed this shot of me from the back while I pretended to take this step over and over until it looked just whimsical enough, and we headed back to the hotel feeling a little queasy but glad we got out in the sun for a while. So next time you’re scrolling your feed and drowning in FOMO and holiday envy, just remember that glamorous shot may not have been as free and easy as it looks.
Penang sunsets are all about the pastels, and I am also all about the pastels so we’re getting along just great! Tomorrow we’re jumping on a bus and heading to Kuala Lumpur for a couple of days, so before we hit the city pace I’m spending today in a state of total zen in our resort editing, relaxing and eating. If I could take Malaysian internet speeds home with me I’d be a pretty happy chappy.
