Please share Sydney! We need to help this amazing girl find the forever loving family she deserves! Sydney is a 3-4 year old Basenji mix who is a little love bug. She’s what we call a velcro dog and really loves to be with her person. She was found on the streets of Modesto and was completely shut down. She was placed into a foster home where she hid behind the couch. No amount of treats or affection could coax her out until one day, she she started realized that people are good and love is ok to accept. She became cuddly, bonding to the teenager in the home, found that antlers are awesome treats and started to love squeaky toys. She’s completely crate trained and like a lot of Basenjis, requires a crate when left alone.
She is 100% potty trained and has never had an accident in the house. She is ok with other dogs but will need an owner who is experienced as she can be a resource guarder. She sits for treats and is oh so cute with those big Basenji ears. Sydney has been boarding and training with an amazing dog trainer who had this to say about her:
“Sydney is a shy dog who thrives on direction and is food motivated. She needs a home that will set boundaries and enforce them without the use of intimidation. She’s fine with the other dogs boarding but she will need an experienced owner to prevent resource guarding”
Sydney has been spayed, is up to date with vaccines and is microchipped. We went to visit the @sony @playstation building in San Mateo and found a duck with his wing tangled in some kind of line, and he was tethered to the fountain sign. We spoke to the attendants at the guest entrance and they called Security who called Animal Control. Security was so nice, allowing us to stay and wait for help to come, as well as staying as long as their jobs allowed. The duck's friend, pictured on the right, swam over and stayed with him the whole time, too! Animal Control eventually came and we got to witness the rescue! Such a neat experience and loved seeing how many kind souls cared about this ducky. :) *****
