1 Year ago yesterday,
I was arrested in the Bronx,
And charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance.
I went from being on the radio,
Moving around to losing everything.
While learning to be a dad,
And trying to provide for my fam.
In that process I learned a lot.
I learned everybody’s Real,
Until some real shit happens.
I learned that a lot of people,
Are only loyal to the opportunity you provide.
And I learned my true strength.
At 20 when my parents moved,
I had to figure out how to survive,
And real quick.
At 27 I had to restart from scratch.
Sitting here a year later,
I’m thankful to be here, Free.
And in the best space I’ve been in,
In years.
I’ve always been the one to step up,
And never complain & keep going.
& try to be the strength for my fam,
My friends and everyone I come in contact with.
Even when inside I felt hopeless.
I just hope as I grow,
I can assist y’all in finding your strength.
And help y’all to believe in You.
They took my car, my money, my phones, my laptop, everything I had.
But they didn’t take my life or my faith.
And that’s all you need to get up,
And make it happen all over again.

I’m Fully blessed to further my basketball career and commit to Humboldt State university. I thank god and the coaches that helped me through the recruiting process and making me the player I am today.
