Since our email issues we have posted 4 new blog posts which you can see by going to this link: http://cruisinwiththecareys.com/blog/. We believe we have fixed this email issue as of today. Happy travels! #travel#roadtrek#cruisinwiththecareys#bubblesisawesome
Day 2 of riding at the ranch, and our 3rd IMBA epic location. We started from the Contrabando trail head. Over the years everything from livestock, and wax, to alcohol during prohibition has been smuggled through here giving it its unique name and history. The trail has breathtaking landscapes, herds of Javelina, and takes you past all kinds of historical locations. Don't pass up an opportunity to ride here if you are ever in the area.
Family sunsets lead to playing with night time photography. Not my strong point, but fun. The sun sets here in minutes. The night sky feels like someone is shining a million flashlights at you. The stars here are the brightest I have ever seen.
A quick stop in at Desert Sports and we are on our way to some riding. It was a sweltering 39 degrees Celsius, zero shade and our water tastes like warm dish soap. Doesn't get any better than this. Lajitas, what can I say... Expect to pedal, ideally a rigid 29er would kill it here.
We used to camp with a Jeep & pop-up camper. Now, we visit the same sites in our @roadtrekmh with confidence because it has @quigley4x4. Do you need 4WD in a Class B RV? That's what our latest blog post is about: http://trekers.org/roadtrek-4x4-off-road/ #vanlife#campervan#boondocking#roadtrek
“All that the light touches...” 🦁Father and son relationships are incredible. As a mom, I want to be able to give everything my son needs, but I can tell there is something Mikey can give him that I never can. Father son time is so precious and too often, seems spread thin. Sons need their fathers around to teach them how to be men. To lead them by example, to teach them the skills they need to forge their own path through life. We have committed to a lifestyle that will allow us to give as much of our time, love, and resources to our son as we can. It’s by no means easy, and we ain’t perfect, that’s for sure, but we are trying to find a path through this life that will strengthen our family bond and raise our children to be independent, creative, and confident in their ability to persevere through challenges. Isn’t that what we all want? Let us know what you think below.

What a great day forbour final day at the national park. Olive, Lucas, and Isaac played like it was nobody's business today. We had the chance to hang with @joyfilledtravel and @justenoughchaos , full timers with kids and a ton of insight and tips on how to do it right. Tomorrow we say goodbye, but I hope our paths cross again soon.
3 nights, 3 prices.
Indio, CA ... $75
Quartzsite, AZ ... $20
BLM , CA ... Zero ... 0 ... Nada ... BLM offers no hookups, no amenities ... but the biggest space, the sky and quiet.
BLM = bureau of land management
btw ... the Grey Goose is a 4x4.
No fear. Go there.
One stop along the coast heading back to Canada was in Fort Bragg. A place called “Glass Beach” was once a trash dump, so broken bottles that remained after cleanups, now wash up on shore like smooth stones. It’s too bad people were collecting bags of the glass when we were there. Soon there won’t be any left.
Follow along on our #All59 National Park Adventure! ☀️@fulltimedreamteam ☀️I posted this video last week, but it didn’t have the music for some reason 🤦🏼♀️, so here it is again with it’s hip happenin’ background track. Ha ha! 🎧
Day 2, Rio Grande plus Kayak equals epic day! We paddled upstream back to the hot springs. There were probably close to 8 portages as the river is extremely low right now. Our first portage left Olive short a floppy flop. This was only a sign of things to come. On the way back we had a yard sale in a section of rapids. We lost shoes sandles hats sunglasses and a phone. Luckily all the important things, the three of us, obviously, came out unscathed. We did recover most of our stuff downstream. I'm very happy to have recovered my @theprfctline hat. I would have been sad to have lost it to the shores of Mexico.
This hot spring was pretty awesome. It had mountain view, the Rio Grande running past it, and these two beautiful ladies to enjoy it with. On the other hand the 105 degree water felt like warm compared to the outside temperature that day. This is a must, and if you aren't up for the desert hike you could drive most of the way and just do the quarter mile hike.
For our first full day in Big Bend we shake off the blues of our roof rack catastrophe and head out for a 7 mile hike through the desert to the natural hot springs beside the Rio Grande. It was bloody hot. He went through almost 6 litres of water and still ran out. When we hit the road back to camp the lethargic March turned into a gallop as we had our sites on ice cream and Gatorade.
We have arrived in Big Bend! We've made it through forest roads unscathed and somehow, in the desert, we managed to tear our bikes and rack clean off the roof of the van. This will be the last shot you see of the road bikes. When I saw my cross bike backflipping off the roof of the van it was clear this wouldn't work.As soon as we find a way they will be shipped back to Canada.
Welcome to Texas! We stopped at this rest stop on our way to Big Bend to stretch our legs and have a bite to eat... unfortunately truckers seem to pee out the side of their trucks and it was pretty stank....onward
