Here is another project that’s underway , a little sideboard for a clients office , to hold her wifi and routers , made out of sapelie now just have to finish up the legs and shelves .#teamridgid#ridgid
I haven't been able to post much lately since I've been busy at my day job but also because I'm in the middle of renovations my basement. The Boss (Wife) wants a Craftsman style stair rail and newel post. I finally got the time this evening to knock out the majority of the build. Now to and spindles, cap, trim out and paint.
Since we couldn't find a good taper that was willing to take on our small #studio apartment project (or even bother calling back👎) we are doing this one in-house. I can usually do a decent mud job myself but I do not have the time right now for this size job. Fortunately, one of the guys has a few years experience taping #drywall on #commercial projects so I am giving him the reins to go hot on this mud!
Update on the @ridgidpowertools oscillating spindle/belt sander. I know a ton of us in the #igwoodworkingcommunity use and love this tool, so I thought I'd provide some additional info on the problem. Model number EB44241 part number 830291.
Problem: After using the spindle, I switched back to the belt only to find that the teeth on the base the belt would not mesh with the Fan. Over time using the spindle, The top of the fan wore down and through repeated use sawdust and bits of rubber clogged the receiving holes and worn down the surface.
Solution: @ridgidpowertools contacted me within minutes of posting my story and provided assistance. I called the service line today only to find that the part I needed was no longer produced by the manufacturer. I was told that I could check if it's under warranty and then return it to a service center for replacement. 🙁
luckily, I have a PhD in DIY from TheJawnShop university and was able to salvage the existing part....for now. But this could be a huge inconvenience in the future. So if anyone out there has 3-D printing capabilities, this might be a good part to start some CAD work on. In a couple of years there may be a lot of sanders that need a replacement fan.
To be clear, I love this tool and have been very satisfied with its performance to date. I hope that it's performance continues in the future but I'm a bit disappointed that some parts which could be easily replaced are not available anymore. .
