Today, the 25 April is Anzac Day. Anzac (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) represents the day on which the Anzacs landed at Gallipoli in 1915.
Anzac Day commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. It is a day for reflection, remembrance and respect.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget."
This stunning work by AUSCPA member Kate Jenvey shows a tender reflection for the men, women and the light horsemen who served and continue to serve. It is titled 'Reverence'
So ask me how I'm coping, and I'll smile and tell you: "I'm just fine"
While down inside I'm screaming till I fucking bleed, Because when everyone's expendable
And your heart can't take the wait
The last thing that you wish for is the face, Is the face to face the pain.
Burn your heaven, flood your hell
Drown you in your wishing wells
Burn your heaven, flood your hell
Damn you all, 'cause tonight I'm killing gods. I spoke a vow today and asked if God would come and play ‘Cause I just wanna cut that fucker down. #parkwaydrive#newalbum#reverence#wishingwells#mood#iphonemusic#metalhead#amazinglyrics
Gadgets, Gear, Spanx, and Make-up.
We have a culture that is often focused on which Boppy pillow, DokATot, and latest baby gadget is the best, rather than focusing on what birth is really about- a new life entering the world, and the power of the woman who grew and birthed that life. Our postpartum time is often filled with visitors wanting to hold the sweet baby- not necessarily help in any way- and mothers often go back to everyday expectations of life much too soon after giving birth. So, what can we do to support a new mom in her postpartum days? And what "stuff" really matters?
If the female body can grow, birth, and sustain life, what are we doing after such an accomplishment, to nurture that body? In our culture, we don't always hold this time- the postpartum period- in reverence. We fail to see and treat it as a sacred time. Yes, a baby has just been born. But so has a mother!
Forget about fancy gear, breastpumps, and various other gadgets, and consider Time & Reverence. Let us not forget about the 4th trimester for both mom and baby, and all the ways in which we can comfort, nurture, and support them both. <3
Stay in bed. Use those terribly unglamorous adult diapers. Be skin to skin. Use that peri-bottle and those precious oils. Nurse your baby. Rest. Just be.
Reverence is a choice🔥🙌🏽
There is a quality to reverence that fills your whole being with wonder, warmth, and delight.
At every single juncture of our lives, we have a choice .. do we see what's wrong with a situation, or do we see what is beautifully right?
Today we set our dials to pouring forth delighted warmth .. no matter what circumstance may befall us. You'll know you've achieved this when you feel a smile creep onto your face that reflects that your being is filled with reverent delight.
From here, make all your decisions, and let all your reactions, come from this place of exalted warmth.
It is when you feel you don't have what you thought you needed (or wanted) that generating positivity and warmth is the choice of the spiritual warrior.
Today is Reverent Warmth Day, my friends. Let’s spend it together, shall we? 👫
In keeping with spring let's celebrate more flowers like the sacred creosote today before I head back inside for another long day at the ceramics studio.
The creosote is a medicinal plant with local tradition believing it was the first object brought out of nothing during creation. Modern science also honors the longevity of this plant as well by recongizing the 'King Clone' of the Mohave Desert as one of North America's oldest plants at ~11,700 years anicent. It's waxy leaves give off the distinct and spellbinding camphor-like smell of desert rain when the water in the air or a warm breath breathed into hands cupped around a gathering of leaves draws it out. In the spring time tiny yellow flowers give way to cute puff ball seeds sprinkled across it's evergreen expanse while it flushes a vibrant green following any period of moisiture all year around, easily making this highly responsive plant one of my favorites to have, honor and be around.
What plants are special to you? .
Tuesday, April 24, 2018 - Happy Tuesday! There is a wonderfully strong and secure feeling with today’s message, flowing with our theme of honour and ritual this week. There is nothing to fear. Speak from your heart and act with authenticity. In doing so, the children and companions around you are drawn to act with integrity themselves. Do what you know is right in your heart: It’s your inner compass that holds your hand and guides you through the thorny brambles of emotional turmoil to the softer ground on the other side. Seek guidance from your ancestors, bringing traditions forth to enrich your day. A simple blessing over your water or meal has astounding benefits to your Soul! There is mutual reverence and respect in this connection. Create something new to share with your family, your friends, or your fellow beings as you feel guided. In bringing something new and reverent forth, you absorb and embrace all the wonders this world has to offer within. Blessed be 🌸🌿
Ark of Women : Wife Series #Day4
“The Capacity of a Woman’s Strength”
We as woman are able to take on so many roles effectively and efficiently without faltering. When you are rooted in God like a palm tree, you exude this capacity that makes people say things such as “How do you do it?!” and “I tap into that grace”. In Ephesians 3:1-13 (focus on vs. 13) and 2 Cor 4:1, Paul tells the Ephesians how by the grace of God, he’s been appointed their apostle. Although he suffered a lot for their honor/glory, he asks them not be discouraged in 2 Cor 4:1 as well as not to lose motivation in ministry. In the same
manner that Paul encourages the Ephesians, I encourage you as a fellow woman not to lose the motivation to wear those hats (wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend) which create your capacity with grace and resilience. You will not cave under pressure and you will not faint because you feel weak. You are capable of so much because of His Mercy & grace. ||| @arkofwomen @parislesley
If you have spent years ignoring your soul voice, burying it beneath layers of pleasing and achieving for others, time and energy must be devoted to repairing that relationship with the deepest part of yourself. It is like any relationship. You can’t just go in there and make demands after years of neglect. Move slow, with gentleness and reverence. Show up without expectation and witness as your truth begins to unfold naturally, without needing to force it. ♥️
