💙This is Cas, an 8 year old labrador cross, very happy, friendly, loving people, going for walks, great with other dogs and good on the lead. Cas used to have a home..a family...but they had to move and weren't able to find a place that accepted animals...so he came to live with us. He is full of life but so yet so gentle...gives hugs and kisses. He would love to share them with you. Will you give him a second chance? 💙 #ashanimalrescue#labrador#labradorcross#rescuedog#rescuelabrador

We secured a foster home for Abbey. We pulled her from the Fremont Shelter this afternoon, and will be dropping her off at her new home later on today. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Sweet Black Labrador Retriever in the Fremont Animal Shelter Needs a Home
Abbey is still in the shelter hoping to find a forever home (as long as forever is for her). She was abandoned by her owner and left with people who refused to care for her. She was left in the backyard to starve to death, while the other dogs in the house were allowed inside and well taken care of. When animal control was eventually alerted, and Abbey was confiscated. She was at least 20 lbs underweight and it was discovered that she had a large mammary tumor. Under the care of an emergency vet, she gained her weight back and the tumor was removed, only to find out that it was malignant, and the cancer has spread to other parts of her body. The vet believes she has 6-8 months to live. However, if cancer is going to ultimately win this battle it has a long, tough fight ahead. Shelter staff believe that due to Abbey’s energy and outstanding disposition, she may stretch out her time with us to a year or even two.
She loves people and just wants to retrieve a tennis ball, forever. When animal control officers found her, the first thing she did was grab a lemon off the ground from a lemon tree in the backyard and wanted the officer to throw it for a game of catch. It was a very emotional rescue. Even though she would be considered “hospice,” she has lots of energy and will need plenty of exercise (throwing a tennis ball a couple thousand times a day, should do it). She needs a house with a big backyard. She also should be the only dog in the home.
Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs will provide support for her care until it is time to say goodbye. It is breaking our hearts that she is stuck in the shelter, when she should be living her life to the fullest, right now.
Kramer is mom's 14th labrador - her 1st boy dog. ... rescued at 5 months old, Kram (he has just turned 2 years old) has adjusted very well to being pampered & spoiled by a dog lover. 🐾💙 #rescuedogsofinstagram
WARNING: THIS IS GRAPHIC and heartbreaking. This fundraiser is fueled by a recent experience with one of our rescues, a black female labrador whom my mother named Cadera...There’s a baker across the way from our property, and he said he found this beautifully sweet Labrador on the side of the road and took her home to try and nurse her back to good health. He later realized how expensive the treatment would be, so he wanted to have her euthanized. My mother and I couldn’t let that happen. So, with the collective help of my mom and the discounted blood testing, x-rays, and the veterinarian with his team, we tried keeping this beautiful girl alive. She had maggots which we got rid of, but the damage had been done. They created holes in her legs. She hadn’t eaten for days, and was hooked up to an IV since taking her in. Unfortunately, after several days of being at the hospital, she passed away due to internal injuries that couldn’t be verified due to not having access to a CAT scan. She was hospitalized for 8 days, X-rays were taken, cost of the entire ordeal was approximately 11,000 Lps ($465.31), including meds...R.I.P. We need the medical supplies and equipment. Especially, when it comes to specialized equipment which can detect internal injuries or bleeding - computed tomography (CT) imaging, also known as "CAT scanning" (Computerized Axial Tomography) is desperately needed. This type of equipment exists in our area, but is restricted to human use only. Meanwhile, animals we have tried to rescue and save, have died due to lack of accessibility to a CAT scan.
We need your help. They need your help. They depend on us for food, shelter and health.
