This was way back in the depths of winter when #remietheofficemascot was very excited to be having her first proper sleepover. She was very happy her friends got to wear matching nightwear (perk of having a #mumboss ) and i was very proud that i got all three of them to sleep with stories and singing.
Helpers: the subject of today's #marchmeetthemaker challenge. I (Rebecca) don't think any new business can get off the ground without support and help from loved ones .
My husband Marc has been our helper since the outset....having enough faith in the idea of Forivor to put his hard earned cash into getting our first samples made (as well as some other financial injections along the way), putting his editing wizardry into making our Kickstarter film for us back when we were launching, lugging heavy boxes of stock around, and of course coming with us on our trade show trips to look after our miniature helper #remietheofficemascot .
He's not alone in being our helper though, Alice's mum has used her sewing skills to make beautiful props for window displays and trade shows and there have been countless friends and family who have helped with proof reading, ideas bouncing and most importantly of all being enthusiastic about Forivor. Thank you to everyone! ❤☄💫 #helper#smallbusiness#meetthemaker#forivor#kickstarter#thankyou
What is our favourite piece to make is today's #marchmeetthemaker question?
With a small business I think the design and creation of all of our pieces are the part of the business we enjoy the most. Having your own business is a lot of problem solving and getting your message out there and much less of getting down to the creative stuff.
But if I had to choose one item it would be our new Legends of the Sea design. It was the first collection that Alice and I did together from concept through to realisation. Working together on the whole process made it much more involved for both of us and it gave us an opportunity to do some proper research into our subject matter (British marine wildlife). With #remietheofficemascot in tow we ventured up to the @angleseyseazoo to do our research - set in a truly beautiful part of our country with one of my favourite beaches Llandwyn just nearby. At the Sea zoo which only has British marine wildlife we discovered these juvenile thornback rays who captivated all three of us with their dancing at the edge of the tank. When we came to creating the Forivorland side of the design there was no question - they had to become Jules & Vivienne our dancing cabaret girls.
Not only did we find plenty of underwater wildlife in Anglesey that we may never have known about- wolffish were another favourite - we had a great couple of days away by the sea. So our Legends of the Sea design so far takes the prize for our favourite to make.

Thanks to @littlehotdogwatson for introducing us to the #meetthemaker challenge by @joannehawker. We're a little late but the first challenge is to introduce ourselves.
So here's a pic of Alice and I (Rebecca) a couple of summers ago with #Remietheofficemascot my daughter who is now 3 and has been a part of the Forivor team since we launched in 2016.
I'm 37 years old and have just moved back to Wales from London with my husband Marc (behind the scenes number one supporter of Forivor) and Remie. Before Alice and I set up Forivor I worked at environmental and human rights charity @ejfoundation, which along with my previous job at @katharinehamnett inspired my commitment to setting up a business that not only tries to increase the market share of organic cotton but in the process can inspire children to be passionate about protecting wildlife and natural habitats as well as being creative storytellers.
I believe that we need to be the most creative we can be in order to stop the destruction of our planet.
Work asides i'm happiest cooking in my kitchen (these days with my sous chef Remie), walking in the countryside, at a flea market or a charity shop with Alice and drinking too much wine with my friends.
Hello I’m Alice Ruby Ross (middle name from my wonderful Grandma) I’m 37 going on 12 and day dream a lot. I console myself that procrastination is all about searching for the best creative outcome but l also know l can be indecisive. A fantastic potterer l love a day spent drawing, walking round a flea market or car boot to find an unexpected treasure.. Full of paradoxes I’m gentle but have the stubbornness of a Taurus...an introvert that can love being the centre of attention
It seems we have moved right next to the most magical of Enchanted Forests. The misty mood of today was hauntingly beautiful and can't wait to see the green shoots of spring transform it into an altogether different place.
It can be an emotional journey remembering the moment #remietheofficemascot finally arrived with us. After my two home birth midwives gently coaxed a very reluctant me into an ambulance after they realised she wasn't coming at home they patiently followed me up the stairs at the hospital as I refused to take the lift (I wanted to help my contractions come back as they had stopped). They stayed with me and helped me get my brain around the decisions I had to make despite their exceptionally long shift. They handed over to another very lovely midwife who held my hand in theatre and kept me calm while Remie finally made her appearance with a few tugs of some forceps. I was so delirious by the end of the 56 hours she took to arrive that I couldn't remember names but I will always remember the reassurance and calm all my midwives brought to what is the most insane of experiences I have ever encountered. #thankyoumidwife and thank you @pampersworld for donating £1 for each post like this to support our much needed midwives who are so overstretched.
And then she was 3! #remietheofficemascot on a birthday shell hunt followed by the incredible shell grotto and a trip to @dreamlandmargate to finish the day on the Ferris wheel.
Thank you for celebrating with us Rosa @larkrisepictures ☄🎉☄🎉☄🎉☄🎉☄🎉☄🎉
We're up bright and early and excited to get ready for the @dottodotlondon Christmas market at the museum of childhood in Bethnal Green today.
Come and get your Christmas presents for the littlies from some of the best kids brands around.
This is #remietheofficemascot s first #selfie . Just found it in my phone while looking for a nice picture to post!
#remietheofficemascot has chickenpox. The plus side to being up half the night should be seeing the #supermoon out the window but it's lurking behind clouds. Instead I found this beauty by the always beautiful collage master @qta3 #regram
Finding time to work and spend proper time with #remietheofficemascot has been a two year learning curve. So much admiration for what @mother_pukka is doing with her #flexappeal campaign. If Forivor is ever big enough to employ other people giving all parents flexible working options will be a priority!
For now I feel very luck to have found a solution where one of my best friends and I spend the day split between looking after our two year olds while the other works and then we have lunch together get our own babes down for a nap and then we swap over for the afternoon.
Mornings are spent with two toddlers - a friend and I work swap (she works mornings while I look after her kids and we swap after lunch so I can work on Forivor). This morning we did painting and think I had just as much fun. They've painted the sea in case you were wondering.
We believe in nurturing a generation of imaginative thinkers who are passionate about protecting the planet.
Today is bleak but we have to keep the hope that our children will create a better world.
