For Ramadan this year, as well as the calendar, good deeds and crafts, I’ve been reading Migo & Ali, ‘Love for the prophets’ to my boys.
It’s a brilliant introduction to young children on all the different prophets from Jesus to Abraham to Muhammad (saw). Each chapter comes with a mini quiz; which the boys love and a book I highly recommend. If you want a few more Islamic book recommendations then there’s a list already up on my website; under the spiritual tab. 📚

Photography. I was recently gifted the Canon 5D mark iii by my amazing husband. It's an incredible camera and I have really enjoyed learning how to use it. Throughout these past several months, it's been a healthy outlet for me to have in the midst of such an intense season. I love photography for many reasons, but a few of my favorites are: 1, I can always try to improve myself with it! In such a small house, and a limited amount of visits to pretty places I am really learning to seek the beautiful things in our every day life. Which is such a great practice for a "glass half empty person" like myself. And second, I get pictures like this!! 👆😭 To preserve my daughters childhood through pictures is extremely important to me. So that being said, what is a positive outlet you use to stay encouraged through hard times?? I'd love to hear your answer!
Happy Bank Holiday Weekend folks! I’m working this morning but after that I’m heading to Manchester for the weekend and considering going phone free! Other than for camera purposes... but no editing or publishing. No WhatsApp or emails. It’s going to be bliss!
Happy Caturday from this lil cutie and I 😽
Here's a photo of Babs in her favourite place!
Babs loves the sound of water, so she often hangs out in the bathroom, listening to the water in the pipes 😄 She also goes racing off to wait outside the toilet door if anyone goes to the loo, because she likes to hear the toilet flush! 😂 And she's recently discovered toilet paper, her new favourite toy - so if we forget to shut the door to the loo then she's in there, batting the roll around the floor! She's such a nutter, and always up to mischief, and I love her so much.
Today has been a rough one again, but Babs has spent most of it between sleeping snuggled up to me like a little teddy bear and zooming around the house pretending we're chasing her (her other new favourite game!!) 😄 I'm so grateful for this little pickle 😻 Do you have a pet? What mischievous things do they do? 😽💖
Giving myself the space to thrive, growing past that discomfort that cropped up as a child; shyness that manifested into reservation.
Today, the smiles arrive cracked open, flourishing, spilling forth milk that tastes of opportunity, and unadulterated joy. With eyes that gaze expectedly past the nose.
