This year, Teach For America Milwaukee has endeavored to widen the cracks in the concrete through our Critical Hope Learning Experiences. On Saturday, April 28th, over 100 of our teachers will be sharing the experiences they developed to build Critical Hope within their students.
A Critical Hope Learning Experience is academically rigorous, community connected, and leads towards action. Our teachers have adapted and lifted the traditional school curriculum and assignments towards expanded impact and relevance for their students.

First week of lectures done! 😁 With a lecture everyday this week, I decided to keep things interesting by adding in some extra slides on super important topics, like: therapeutic synthetic boogers for drug delivery to the brain, chocolate phase diagrams and alloying with oils to create chocolate shell ice cream sauce, and microstructural error analysis on DIY forging mishaps from #ancientartsfellowship . And just for variety, I also squeezed in some time in the lab investigating the effect of ethanol on the formation of self-assembling peptide #hydrogel -s. I'm pretty sure I read more textbook this week than I did throughout my entire undergrad. Defeated. Unfiltered. And my hair is covered in vomit...my otherwise rambunctious p who harasses the ducks and picks all the flowers was keeled over in the garden. next thing I know breakfast is covering all of us. I used my sweater to clean up most of it and I apologize to all that had to see my pants riding up my ass because today, that sweater had a purpose. Had to walk a mile and a half out of the park carrying p, feeding t and pushing the stroller with my forearm. Wiped the sweat off my face and went to the nearest store to replace the bottle of water I used to clean the stroller. Before I died. It’s a beautiful day. #somuchforthepicnic#mom#realjob

Well girl. I’m here to tell you those “things” are REAL.👌 I had REAL tears in my eyes this afternoon from REAL women with REAL struggles and REAL insecurities in my April virtual bootcamp. But on the flip side, I also saw the REAL self worth, REAL self confidence start to shine through as we approach the half way mark!!! That’s real.👌 I’m a REAL online health & wellness coach. I have a REAL bunch of women that I deeply care about and genuinely want to see them succeed in their personal journeys to better health. And because of my heart, my passion, my hustle, I’m REALLY going to Mexico tomorrow all because I took the time to find out what coaching was all about.

Attention: those looking for a REAL work from home job (that doesn’t involve network marketing)!! Great News!! I found one and I want to share my personal experience with you!! Let me start off by saying I love my job in the property management industry, but I loved the idea of staying home with my girls more.
Back in December/January when I was still pregnant with Laiklynn, I began my work from home job search. It took so much time and effort😓 preparing my resume, creating accounts/logins, and narrowing down which types of jobs/companies contacted me. I was on Indeed, Monster, Zip Recruiter, Glassdoor, FlexJobs, LinkedIn, etc... each day I got email after email... sales, customer service, call centers, B2B sales, etc.
Wanna know what all these jobs had in common? They required experience, no background noise while working (which is impossible for any parent), a minimum of 20 hours a week, answering to your boss on a daily basis, unpaid training, and a “minimal” fee to cover administrative costs.
With the job I found and was offered, they required all the above, plus the unpaid training was 6 weeks long! I don’t know about you, but my family can’t afford 6 weeks with no pay.
So, for those of you who are so close-minded and won’t even consider network marketing, you should really think again.
With network marketing no experience is required, you can work and make earnings while training at the same time (it’s a learn-as-you-go process), there’s minimal startup fees of which you actually make a profit off of!!!, and with network market you work at your own pace for however many hours you want a day or week and you work for yourself! You can give yourself raises and promotions every single month! What kind of “real” job does that?! With hard work and dedication you have the potential to make more with network marketing than you would ever make in an hourly salary from a “real” job. Network marketing is just as real as any other job out there, it just takes gut, grit, discipline, and determination.
I may not be ready to quit my job right now, but I’m hustling with all my might, so that I can make enough to be able to do so. Then I don’t have to worry about keep

So on a week like this where I have a packed week of #realjob , sewing for @immeasurableshop, a fussy, newly independent, sweet baby, and some workouts that I’m more than slightly afraid of, it was solely the kindness of the Lord to provide this fearful, pain-avoiding heart with these ⬇️ verses last night at church. Whether mundane or life changing, I have victory over my battles because the Lord is the one who prepares the way. He makes the path straight and gives me exactly what I need to walk the hard way with strength.

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone’s having a great weekend. I decided to skip off to Universal for a early bday celebration with the fam bam. Perfect way to relax and not think about everything that have to do.

I am a theatre teacher and today, we were working on makeup and one of my students did this bite on my arm. I though it was pretty cool for it being their first time. 🤷🏼♀️
Off to the @mobilecaddy Herne Bay office today to work. Leaving the house this early (unless for school runs obvs) reminds me how lucky I am to work at home/ enjoy flexible working.
My Dad visited at the weekend and we were talking about jobs, careers etc and asked if I saw myself getting a "proper job". He didn't mean any mallace in the question, just that his generation didn't see a job working 9-5 from home, flexible around kids pickups/ plays and groups a real, grown up job.
