I've been a massive fan of Taika Waititi ever since What We Do in the Shadows became my favourite comedy film, so when he was announced as director for Thor 3, I was so excited.
The film absolutely lived up to my expectations, and even surpassed them - one of the funniest MCU films so far, and I love how much Taika flavour is in there.
Chris Hemsworth really flourishes playing Thor as more of a comedy character, while Tom Hiddleston is incredible as always playing Loki.
Jeff Goldblum is outrageously odd and charismatic as the Grandmaster, while Tessa Thompson does a lot more with Valkyrie than I was expecting - a lot of nuance and interesting slants to her character.
Cate Blanchett is deliciously wicked as Hela, the Goddess of Death, and she's clearly having a lot of fun in the role.
More than anything, this film is just loads of fun - from the ridiculous banter between Thor and Hulk, to Korg and Miek, we're in for a fun ride from start to finish.
This film is also incredibly gorgeous.
So many shots such as the one in the screenshot above, and the one where the Valkyrior are descending upon Hela are breathtaking and borderline biblical in scale, and demand to be paused to take them in!
Definitely up there with some of the best in the MCU! .
Next up.......not sure why so many people found this to be inferior to the first one. I thought it was just as good, if not better. There was a little more insight into what makes these characters so likeable. And, call me a sap, but the emotional moments hit me harder. It really showed you that these guys........probably the funniest, goofiest characters in the series.......all kind of have the saddest stories. I also thought the soundtrack was better overall than the first one. Awesome villain, jokes that hit, multiple great mid/post credits scenes........some of y’all need to rewatch this one. 📼🎧🌔💫☄️🌏✨🌱🛸🚀
Training for Ragnarok this Sunday. Fun little accessory workout, don't be afraid to mix it up and try new shit!
Video 1. The US Open for wrestling is next week in Vegas, I'm amped so here's some sled double legs! Nothin' fancy, just hard work.
Video 2. Sometimes I have stupid ideas, sometimes my stupid ideas rock. This one rocks! Give these sled side lunges a go...if you have the mobility for it! @smith.julian
Video 3. Upper back work for scapular control, shoulder mobility, stability and health. Not cool looking, but healthy strong shoulders are definitely cool as fuck. Yes, I drop the 3 pound dumbbells on the third exercise, oops. Those were drop catches by the way, add a little twist to some otherwise boring rear flyes.
