What a great #adventurerace by @wadiadventureae this morning for #WAR16 ! I showed up without any competitive fire (I used it all up in Tri season), so I started slow & steady - but after the first 2 obstacles, I started passing people and before I knew it, I was in #firstplace among the #femaleelites !!! It was a great course that played to my strengths (loads of water obstacles and rocky #trailrunning ) . Afterwards, I had time to zip home, shower and pick up the kids before heading back for #prizegiving . The prizes were incredibly generous, with loads of fun products, nutrition, vouchers, 2 medals and a trophy!

Post race week means post race analysis. There are lots we can gather from post race data. How well did an athlete implement the race goals? Pace? Hrate? Watts? Conditions? Controllables? Noncontrollables? Mental stamina? Mental game? All of these things make great dialogue between coach/athlete and aid in the process of always working towards eliminating limiters. Do you take the time to study and dialog about race data? Well worth the investment in always moving forward.

2:10 bike with 4x20 descending Z1-Z3 / :55 Z1 run ✅. Felt strong today ... turns out, my body loves all the carbs. I shoveled my face full of carbs while at camp, and recovered and performed better than I could have imagined. That’s holding true at home, too!
👀 poppin’ calves after my first spin in @hokaoneone Arahi kicks. I was lucky to have @spinneyvt @jessekropelnicki @amyjavenstriathlete and @tsnow15151 take a look at my run form at camp, and I’m making some changes to my stride and shoes based on their recommendations. #tbt - this crew! I had the BEST time at @qt2systems elite age group camp, and this stellar group of athletes and coaches is a big reason why. Training 4-6 hours per day, multiple days in a row, isn’t exactly a breeze ... but it’s easy to feel motivated when you’re surrounded by the best people ❤️💪🏻

Last session, last day - some run efforts on clay trails. I sat this one out because my injured leg was getting tired, so I got some cool shots of some of my awesome athlete camp mates crushing it! 4 packed days went by way too quickly. Heading home super motivated, happy, and a little bit tired! HUGE thanks to our amazing coaches, and to all the athletes who pushed me all camp long. Until the next time... @qt2systems
QT2 Camp day #1 on the books! 3600m swim, ~3 hour bike with steep hill repeats, and a 20 min run...and then some recovery nutrition, foam rolling, and a @ntrecovery session to get me ready to go at it again tomorrow! Started the day feeling super jittery and nervous in the pool, but all felt right in the world when I got on my bike - big thanks to @the_cycling_hub_clermont for taking the best care of my ride. Beyond happy to be warm and playing in the sunshine ☀️

It’s not always just pretty pictures of food around here 🙃. Long trainer rides building for IMLP mean practicing getting my gut back in shape to take in enough sports fuels (and then some!) so I’ll tolerate them on race day. Often athletes try to ramp up their intake on race day beyond what they used their in training leading to stomach issues due to increased stress and heat. Need help with a fueling plan? First full weekend of training had all the elements of swimming, cycling and running. I loved being back in the water and I forgot how sore one can get on the bike 😵 The run was a slosh full of snow, ice and huge surprise puddles. The best part, I got to meet up with the lovely Andrea @andrea.severson for dinner Saturday night!! We had an absolutely wonderful time talking as if we have been friends for a long time.
