A pissed off 4'+ Red Diamond Rattler found while taking a hike in Poway. I'd say it's proof that Rattlers don't want to hurt people, but only protect themselves if needed. First instinct they exhibit is to try to escape.
One thing I love most about getting away from the city, is getting away from the city. Only the roads take me to the place i find most relaxing, any where nature is still raw, still intact and still natural.
"Yo, you, looking at me, don't you just want to take me home with you, want me to be your best friend, I bet your dog can't do this! So whatcha say, I'm not your average lizard, I'm exceptional!"

Last night my son was helping and we sprayed the snakes that were in shed. In the video you can hear him say “she’s hiding her head”. And he keeps spraying. I didn’t record the next one but the moment the lid pops off he says “she’s mad” and backed up. He knew, and he wasn’t wrong. And I pressed a spray bottle toward the Spark and sure as anything she struck. I used the spray bottle so I didn’t get struck while placing her lid back on. Thought it was cool an 8 year old knew the difference so quick because he spends enough time around these animals.
