I’m currently sitting on the sofa feeling so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given. It’s weird how moments like these can catch us off guard and trigger our memories.
You’re probably wondering what I’m talking about, so I’ll try explain! I’m currently watching Ed Sheeran on BBC Biggest Weekend and it reminded me of having the opportunity to watch him in a very small venue in Kansas, USA 5 years ago. He was phenomenal 👌👌 Both times I’ve worked or lived in the USA I’ve been able to see so many artists live, in 6 months I saw 7 artists in Kansas, I can’t remember how many in Florida but the highlight was definitely Black Eyes Peas.
It’s easy to forget this moments when it’s raining outside or we’re stuck inside for one reason or another. The reality is that we make our own destiny and our memories. When there’s an opportunity to do something awesome, make it work, make sure you go and do it. 🙌 even if it doesn’t go quite right, life lessons are invaluable and those moments make you who you are.
Happy Saturday night everyone 🤜🤛
📹 Throwback video of the star which has your initials sewn into the centre. It’s sewn onto the back of the new range of bags 😍 with neon pom-poms and embroidery threads 🧡💗💚💛
My husband took this photo in Japan last year .. I’m inspired lately to go out of my comfort zone to work on some new pieces in between custom orders. I might stitch him an image he took on his Japan trip. Luckily he’s not on Instagram so he will never see this 🤐😉😂 #kimartdesignssneakpeek#explorejapan
I love this quote with the leaves and flowers all hidden throughout. 🌿🌸 Every time I look at it, this image comes to mind of people running barefoot through a giant forest with pretty leaves and flowers surrounding them. So summery and fun!
Grab this print for 30% off too on my website! 🎉

54. Filoli, Woodside.
If well-manicured formal gardens and a beautiful historic mansion are your thing, this is definitely the place to be. It was designed between 1915-17 as the country estate for the Bourns, who were wealthy San Franciscans with a vision. Fi-lo-li is actually named after William Bourn's personal credo: “FIght for a just cause; LOve your fellow man; LIve a good life.” After the Bourns passed in 1936, the Roth family purchased the estate, and the formal gardens gained worldwide acclaim. Mrs. Roth then donated the house to the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1975, and together with the Filoli Center, the two nonprofits now run the estate.
It's open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 10-5, and the fee is $22, which is definitely on the high end for this gems list. But it's worth at least one visit for any garden, landscape, and mansion lovers out there. Even the drive down the peninsula is gorgeous, with the light coming through the hills.
Check out this myriad of colours! So pleased I’ve finally used that word in a sentence. Proud moment: I have been asked to write about my favourite sewing project for the amazing @simplysewingmag ✂️ !! And even though I have made a lot of sewing tutorials by now, the cut-and-sew dress project is my ultimate favourite 💕 You can find the full story in the latest issue, yay!!

It’s the first day of half term and we’ve all been up since 6am 😴 thankfully Lego has kept them in their rooms 💝⠀
I can hear them getting annoyed with each other (the typical toddler knocking down towers and other creations the eldest has made)....it’s only 8.30am...or it could be a bit of hangry sneaking in there. We’re off to grab some breakfast downstairs and I think an enforced quiet time is going to be implemented after lunch!⠀
How’s your weekend going? Did you manage a lie in?⠀
Happy Friday! I found this in one of the classrooms where I teach after-school sewing classes to local elementary school students. I've been thinking a lot about growth mindset lately. This was a cool little poster that helps a lot! I hear my students say things like "I'm not good at this" or "this is hard", so it's good to see other ways to reframe this kind of thinking. Do you have any tips for fostering a growth mindset in yourself and little ones? #growthmindset#teachlifeskills
Put a few new goodies up on the site, including this groovy mug. It’s not my usual style, but it’s fun to change things up occasionally and play with glaze combinations. Also, this mug is probably one of the biggest I’ve made, at 16 ounces, and lawd, that’s a boatload of coffee. ⚡️ Housekeeping note: I’m going on vacation the first part of June, so anything ordered after this Sunday won’t get shipped until June 18. And you know what this means, right?? PREPARE YOURSELF FOR VACAY PICS
Big ol’ stack of skirts and dresses on the sewing table this weekend! Getting ready for @iceatlanta June 2-3rd! If you’re in ATL stop by the Georgia Freight Depot and shop small/local/indie businesses!
These are the last remaining tassel earrings I have left, they went SO quickly!
