Hello Proats my old friend! A standby for many of us, this is my favorite breakfast ❤️🥣! I know the thought of adding liquid egg whites is super creepy, but they cook! PROMISE!! And they add a nice fluffy/meringue-ish element--plus it's a great protein boost 😁

5.5F 31C 30.5P**

INGREDIENTS:
🌾1/3 cup @coachsoats or any steel cut oats
🥛1/2 cup almond milk (c'mon it's gotta be @califiafarms)
💧1/2 cup water
🥚1/2 cup liquid egg whites
💪1/2 scoop protein powder

Bring water & almond milk to a low boil, add Coach's oats. After the oats have been cruising for a minute or so and are starting to clump together, add the egg whites (and collagen peptides if using) and beat vigorously with a fork for 30+ seconds. Continue cooking until desired consistency, then cover your pot and let it chill for 5ish minutes. Add 1/2 scoop of protein powder, adding additional Califia almond milk if needed or just because it's delicious.

There really is nothing more satisfying than my big ol bowl of chocolate brownie flavored protein porridge topped with banana , blueberries and raspberries 😍

It fuels me for the day and especially during the weeks where I’m in a deficit and under 100g of carbs a day I have to be carful with portion sizes and my selection of certain foods..

I normally try and save my carbs for the evening as that’s where I’m at my ‘hungriest’ I make sure all food is consumed by 19:00pm latest..

When you get into bed, track your food into @myfitnesspal for the next day which takes 5 minutes , that way you know exactly what you’re eating and it helps prevent those cravings as you know what food you have to look forward too rather than having to rush to @tescofood at lunch time to grab something quickly , as it’s all to hard to walk past the @krispykremeuk Doughnuts on your way to the salad isle..😜

Why do I love proats so much? GREAT question! Here are my top 5 reasons....
1. The taste amazing
2. Whenever a meal has protein + carbs + fats, it feels more complete to me... Protein - for muscle retention/growth, satiety and feeling fuller for longer, to name a few benefits. Carbs from the oats and berries - great for glycogen stores to go and do a high intensity workout straight after. Good fats - for many reasons including satiety and hormone balance.
3. Oats are a great way to get selenium into your diet, which is a mineral lacking in many diets because it's not commonly found in foods in the quantities we as humans need for optimal health (particularly in NZ where our soil is low in selenium)
4. You can change the taste up so simply... swap out the fruit, for example sometimes I'll put in pineapple, swap the good fat for a nut butter, or swap the protein powder for another flavour... the combinations are endless!

Proats=Protein oats. How did I make it?
🥄7 teaspoons of oats.
🥛1:1 ratio of water and milk(Just make sure all the oats are soaked).
🍌A mini banana.
🌰Some cinnamon.
🥚1 egg white.
Add the egg white while on the stove, and mix it in quickly so that it doesn't scramble. I topped it with some flax seed, almond powder, and honey.😍
