Drop the cereal and bring back the eggs 🍳 High fat, high protein , good for the gut breakfast — 2 egg scramble with bone broth , ghee and all the parsley served along side avo and @kehoeskitchen sauerkraut .
I have been so busy 🐝 had no time to post updates. We are moving along with the Reno. Two more weeks plus the countertops instal. So really looking forward to the finish line but the hardest part is ahead—two/three weeks with no kitchen. So not looking forward to that. On another note—baby Nina is making progress. I am able to eat tomatoes 🍅, cucumbers 🥒, pineapples 🍍, lemons 🍋 and all berries 🍓 so very excited 😜 about it since it has been a long long time since I have been able to enjoy those goodies. She also had an avocado 🥑 and had a better reaction then before where it caused stomach troubles at night. This time it was much milder. Still a bit of reaction but miles and leaps better. 😆 yessssss
D14M2 | my husband's burgers vs mine (swipe ➡️) 🍔🍔🙌
we bought some @sunworks_farm beef burgers from @blushlane a couple weeks ago + finally cooked them up for lunch today.
you can never really go wrong with burgers. they are very versatile as to what you can top them with + they are the perfect summer time food 🍽☀️
i generally just like simple basic ingredients on my burgs but after seeing my husband's combo, i might just have to be more adventurous next time 😏
👦 his: fried egg, mustard, bacon, ham, pickles, red pepper, homemade ketchup, hot sauce + lettuce
👧 hers: mustard, homemade ketchup, mayo, bacon, lettuce + pickles
what is your favorite burger topping? 🍔🍔
Just threw a wonderful #dinaublanc party out in the Superstition Mountains. Thanks to @clothandflame for a glorious night of #paleo delights, best view of a sunset ever and delicious wine and discussion. #bestnightever
What an earth is SAD’s...
SAD's is basically the experience of low, depressive moods at the same time each year, specifically around the Winter months.
Because our mood boosting and supporting nutrient levels plummet due to a lack of exposure to enough sunlight to enable our bodies to produce enough Vitamin D, our psychology can take a hit.
Approximately one in four Australian adults has inadequate levels of the ‘sunshine vitamin’, with the highest rates of deficiency measured in winter in people living in Victoria and the ACT (49 per cent respectively). In Western Australia, in winter, it's 28 per cent of the population that has a vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D + A, E and K are brain superfoods guys. Without them we simply fail to thrive, we go into a state of cognitive decline and we experience low moods. .
Did you know applying sunscreen diligently prohibits UVB (the rays responsible for suntans) from penetrating the skin? These same UVB rays naturally produce vitamin D. Is that a penny drop moment for you? Applying sunscreen every day before we head out the door is not normal for our bodies guys and can actually have a detrimental impact on our health.
Here is how we prepare for Winter now-
1. Light Therapy: We purchased a light therapy unit from Lumie (The Brazil model). Light therapy brings the daylight indoors and although it doesn't help with Vitamin D levels, it does support our brain chemistry. Verilux light boxes are more easy to access here in Australia and mimic daylight by providing full spectrum light without the harmful UV rays. Full spectrum, or natural light, provides important signals to the body to help you relax, focus, and feel revitalised as well as encourages healthy melatonin and serotonin levels. .

Well I damn near burned the (new) place down, but dinner is served! 🙄🤷♀️. Y’all. Glass top stoves and cast iron are off to a rocky start right now. Good news is I did NOT set off the smoke alarms; bad news is it’s only bc I need to put batteries in them 😂😭
Dinner is a grass fed beef briquette with @sirkensingtons special sauce and @grillospickles, served with up with @sweetandsauerferments Curtido and “chips” aka some local pork cracklin
Yep that's right....On Guard in our paleo banana bread👌😀 So delicious and nourishing.

it tastes better than it looks 🤷🏻♀️ // I love days that are equal parts relaxing and productive. the dishes have been put away, sheets are changed, laundry is done, floors are swept, carpets are vacuumed, capsule wardrobe is switched, and homework for one of my grad school classes is done. but I also slept in. and did a crossword. and walked the dog. and took a nap. and now I’m settling in to watch netflix. I may even give myself a manicure later. sundays are my favorite.
Blueberry fat bomb - 90% dark chocolate
- coconut oil
- nut butter of your choice
- heavy cream
Melt everything down in a pan on a low heat. Add to a loaf silicon mould. Throw all your berries on top (can add anything at this point). Refrigerate overnight or freezer for 2 hours
I always get carried away at farmer’s markets and spend WAY more than I intend. 😅 I saw Meyer lemons and had to buy them along with mint for lemonade this week. I spent God knows how much on cherries (bad at checking prices and produce scales), and grabbed sunflowers and a mushroom variety box from my fave mushroom guy, @kanesfamilyfarm. In terms of meal prepping, I’m making stuffed cabbage (using grass-fed organic ground beef and cauliflower rice) and an Asian slaw using cabbage and radishes. #farmersmarket#sundaymealprep#memorialdayweekend#freshfood
