My op-thrift shop win of the day. A lamp base by Oxshott Pottery, Surrey, England. It is a rare and early piece by Rosemary Wren, probably 1950’s or early 1960’s. Made from very dark brown clay, with cream and black glaze design for the dress. With a bc brass fitting. I don’t know much about British pottery and thought it to be of Scandinavian origin. On closer inspection I found the signature Oxshott with a small bird image beneath (I presume the image of a wren). Very naive but beautiful. #thekraftsman
I'd just like to announce to the world that I successfully rewired AND added a switch AND put a new shade on my lovely Tremar pottery lampbase! And it looks GREAT.
