WTF is a #FaveCrave ? It’s a food that you normally consider a “bad” or “trigger” food that you actually make point to eat a small amount of throughout the day to avoid overeating it later. Seems like a counter-intuitive approach, but it actually works. Incorporating #FaveCrave foods is a strategy I implement every single day personally and have also used with other moms I coach. It’s been a real game-changer to break years of food obsession and binge-eating for so many. When we deprive ourselves of certain foods, we just seem to want them more, don’t we? Eliminating some of our favorite foods never really seems to work in the long-run.
FaveCrave looks different for everyone. The only requirement is that it has to be a food your love.
Salty snacks. Sweets. Full-fat salad dressing vs. that watered down dirt-tasting substance also known as fat free ranch dressing. FaveCrave foods can literally be anything. Team Sweet-Tooth over here 🙋🏻♀️. I always eat something sweet after every single meal (even breakfast. Hellooooo breakfast cookies!). It's super-satisfying for me to eat a few bites of something sweet throughout the day and is a preventative measure I take so that I don't eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream every night before bed. •
Aaannnndddd lets be honest here. From time to time just a few bites ain’t gonna cut it. Because, well, no one is perfect, and Ben and Jerry's is awesome. I mean have you even tried the Pecan Sticky Bun flavor yet? SO. DELICIOUS. But tonight and most nights, a few spoon-fulls and I’m good 👌
Leg Day ✅
This morning was a struggle...
▪️Landon was awake and restless several times which makes mama anxious 😧 ▪️I have NO Preworkout 💥😟
▪️And freaking leg day is HARD 💦 .
But it’s DONE and thank goodness my babe 👶🏻 went back to sleep 😴 .
Happy Wednesday 🌟
Y’all I did it 💗✅👊
I got a morning workout in and virtually joined by @jeepherfit and @shannonlunne 💥
Sooo thankful for my girls keeping me accountable to taking my mornings back!!!!!
Sienna is just over 11 weeks!!! I cannot believe it. People tell you life goes fast once you have babies, but you don’t understand how true it is until you’re there! I cherish these fleeting moments as she grows & changes before my eyes!!!💗Anyways, this update is about my post natal fitness journey! I’m feeling really good!!!! Lots of energy and feeling strong having just closed out on 4 weeks back at lifting/exercising!!!! My routine these past 4 weeks has been MINIMAL guys. 3-4 days of lifting, at least 4 minutes of core work every day and walking every day. That’s it!!!! BUT I haven’t slacked. Because it’s been totally manageable. I’m getting it DONE in a way that works for my family & I. What does that mean? Adjusting my workout schedule as needed, fitting in 15 minutes in if that’s all I can do, selecting exercises that give me the most bang for my buck, forgoing chores when she sleeps in order to work out, recognizing when I need rest and listening to my body, going to the gym on weekends when I know I have childcare, incorporating Sienna into my workouts, and just reminding myself that consistent working out = self care = better Mom, wife, friend, person!!!!!💗💪🏼 Now as I enter my next 4 week phase, I’ll do different exercises for my lifts and add in some... HIIT CARDIO!!!! Just super simple 10-15min session a week on a rested day, to start. Slow & steady wins the race people!!!! Nutrition is the same... prioritizing protein & vegetables as much as I can, and moderating fats and carbs... somewhat🤣. Limiting sweets. Keeping my meals SIMPLE & EASY. Smoothies, frozen veggies, bulk cooking protein, making larger dinners so I have leftovers, protein bars, etc! Lots of water!!!!! I see good progress so far between my photos. Working out throughout my pregnancy has definitely helped my ability to “get my body back” at a faster pace - however my progress is NOT “super fast” ... and it shouldn’t be. And I’m OKAY with that. Because fast doesn’t yield my long term results. Also my perspective on my body has changed. I appreciate it more than I ever have!!!! I value my vehicle and want to treat it right. Nourish it. Get it strong. ...👇🏼Continued in comments...
It’s Monday and I usually don’t workout on Monday but the hubs is home early which means he’s on baby duty and I’m taking advantage of that✅
I’m tired and seriously lacking energy but mama has goals and opportunity has knocked 👊
Saturday workout ✅ .
I procrastinated a lot and I decided last minute to change workouts but I sweated 💦 .
PS if you want to feel like ya haven’t worked out in a year...do some plyo 😓 .
It is going to be a few weeks before I am back @psyclelondon taking classes, but it felt good to be back at the studio to soak in the atmosphere and meet @healthy.cam & @martina_cote after @oliverblackpt class!
Yes I can not wait to be back riding @oliverblackpt class and feel the barre burn with @kateweichel_fit but it won’t be before I am ready & I know I have to be patient on this #postnatal journey...in the meantime I can meet people and eat all the food!
Disclaimer: The crown was forced on my head 👑
I’ve been reading these two books on and off for months but today I decided I’ve GOT TO FINISH them both by May 31st ✅💥
Reading used to be a daily morning ritual and I’m ready to take my mornings back!
