...here i start a little series and tutorial about the 356 floor-pans...
I did think about why people know about the smallest details like the labeling of screw heads, but weld or let weld in their 356 Porsche 1,7 square meter of wrong panels!
There obviously are several 356 fans, owners or enthusiasts who are in the need of new floors, but don't even know that there have been several different versions installed during the years of evolution and factory production, or know how they should look like, and which are the right ones to choose for their 356 project.
That may be caused in horribly rusted and simply gone original ones, bad rust repair trials of former owners, or already installed wrong ones, during a restoration in former times.
During the decades there have been welded so many of them with floors which are far different compared to the originals, that most people probably do not remember or simply never have seen original floors.
Also the mentoring or guidance by the reseller of aftermarket sheet-metal and floors, might possibly not be the best source for detail knowledge...
Together let's collect an online database on IG about original 356 floors, where everybody can find the required information which helps to choose the right floor for his restoration project.
Everybody is welcome and invited to post pics of his car, still wearing the original floors or cut out original floors which are a left over of a restoration or any interisting detail.
Please describe the model and year, and tag them #356originalfloor .
We all hopefully will collect a lot of pics which help to save them all, - more correct!
Thanks for your interest and support, i hope you like and appreciate it!
I am looking forward to your comments!
