So here’s deetz! When I told you “I QUIT; breaking up with a diet!” I wasn’t kidding —> that doesn’t mean I am giving up what I worked SO hard for OR that I am giving up on my challengers!! The thing is I’ve been following these portion control containers which has helped me learn the correct portions of foods and when I should be eating! Meaning 6x’s per day! How much I should be eating and which foods are better for me. This has helped me in SO many ways! I was overeating in so many areas as well as under-eating in others. With the help of the containers I was able to understand better. 
Now that I’ve trained my brain 🧠 with portions I’ve got a pretty good handle on controlling BUT what I can’t control is impulses! I have impulses to indulge on the weekend. I have impulses to have a few beers. I have impulses to ENJOY sweets but when I do my mind goes into negativity! 💭 
That is what I am talking about! I just want to enjoy this lifestyle without those thoughts. I’ve come to realize it will be hard but with the help of an experienced nutritionist I can learn how to END these guilty feelings and negative thinking!!🙌 PS> I need to be beach ready 🏝 in 21 days! Can you only guess which program I choose to do next 😉😉

[THE GOOD AND BAD OF THE LADDER]

Go to any "speed coaches"Instagram page and you'll see an impressive and flashy agility ladder drill.

🚘But does the agility ladder make you faster or more agile?
-
Unfortunately not alone.

What do we need to get faster and more agile?
-
🚀We need to be able to produce force into the ground effectively. The agility does a poor job of teaching us this.
-
✈We need a good quick first step using both our front and rear foot. Again the ladder doesn't teach this well.
-
🚀We need to be able to react to an external stimulus. (ie. An opposing player). Once a pattern is learned an athlete will go on "auto pilot". How do we get faster and more agile?
-
✈We need to increase the strength and power of our lower body. Especially on a single leg.
-
🚀We need to learn proper first step and sprint mechanics.
-
✈We need to add a reactive component to our change of direction drills.

What the ladder does a great job at?

🚀It's a great tool for a multi-planar dynamic warm up, it's is useful in stability drills, and it helps build a mind-body connection!

My first #plyo day for #BB1 (really it was the first day ever for plyo). I literally thought I was going to 🤮 halfway through.  But I made it!  Well kinda.  I choose not to do the burpee part of the box jumps cause I have a serious mental block when it comes to box jumps.
I thought that doing it in my backyard by the pool would be motivation but I’m not sure the 70 degrees and sun helped.

Monday’s are never bad when you love what you do! Don’t just talk about it. Dream it, manifest it, believe in it, take action on it, bring others to it, own it, get it done, repeat it. 
Hitting a little bit of everything with this 🔥 SLOW and CONTROLLED is the way to do these. Also, add some resistance to your workouts! Body weight workouts are great but when you’re ready to level it up, add some challenge. Whether it’s bands (which you can buy for 10 bucks at almost any store) or heavier weight than just body weight. INVEST in your health. Resistance = change. Change = growth. Growth = strength. Moral of the story, resistance makes you stronger... never stop pushing back. Same lesson applies to life 😉
1. X10 each side (one front lunge, one side lunge) — I used a 40 lb BB
2. X20 close stance squats 
3. X8 each side 
4. X6 total on both sides (so mf hard🔥).. 5. X20 each side 
6. X20 hold DB between feet, raise legs slowly while activating yo booty (I used a 12 lb DB) [ Repeat full circuit 4-5 times w 1 min rest in between ]

It’s so interesting to me that something I’ve despised so much (jumping aka Plyo) has somehow become something that makes me feel good!  I think it’s because I see how much stronger I’m getting and it’s exciting to see progress.  I also know now how amazing Plyo is not just for getting chiseled but also for cardiovascular health!

Starting week 2 of 21DFX (started over cuz my first week was 💩). Slightly pulled my left glute and didnt realize it until i tried Plyo Fix Extreme  this morning. So had to take some of the moves light especially when doing one legged moves...boo! Rolled it out a little after the workout and will roll it out more tonight. My #CAFL #football season has been postponed, therefore the primary goal of my current training is not to maximize #speed, #agility or #changeofdirection.
However, I always incorporate some #plyo or change of direction drills once a week to stay loose and athletic. 
I use #kneeling #hipturn to work on hip and shoulder dissociation which is one of the most important skill for #cornerback or #defensiveback in coverage. 
Also, I purposely not to go for height in #kneelingjumps because it’s important for cornerbacks to stay low and not pop up in transition. This drill teaches me to drive out of a low stance with no visual stop.
