Have you seen our studio lately?
You KNOW it's heading this way, right? 😂
There's just something about that vibe 🌿✌🏼️ Because let's be honest, plants are zen AF. They don't care what the other plants are doing, they just send down their roots, tap into the own nourishment, and then bloom 🌿✌🏼️
Great Basin Institute ecological monitoring crews from Northern California and Nevada convened for botany class today! As always, the class provided opportunities for cool vignetes of plants under the microscopes. 🌷👍 This glistening gem is a variety of cherry, and the ovary in the center of the flower would have become the fruit. But this flower had a higher calling: to further scientific knowledge of thee plantas! Yah yah!
Post from day two of our Mojave adventure: The SuperBloom in the Mojave Desert had moved to the hills by the time we arrived, and niche habitats were exploding with a diversity of color. In Marble Canyon alone these photos are only a small sampling of an overwhelming scene. To name only a few there were flowering sage, mint, three varieties of evening primrose, numerous phacelias and cryptanthas, gravel ghost, trumpet buckwheat, panamint daisy, and to top it off an absolutely stunning larkspur!! Witnessing the desert in bloom was an amazing spectacle to say the least.
