We as humans often like to consider ourselves intelligent.. innovators of sorts.. the irony of that is as earthly beings we are only ever simply becoming aware of what already is & always has been naturally so. It’s earth day.. and so I dare you to truly celebrate the earth today by not using any single use plastic like straws, coffee cup lids, soy sauce in little plastic servings, plastic wrapping & plastic bags & while you are at it.. go hug a tree & say thank you for the life it allows you to live. 💙🌏🌳

In celebration of Earth Day I bought five new plants!
I got four cactus and one succulent. I haven’t named them yet and I’m looking for suggestions. The pink one is a Moon cactus, the long one in the other back pot is a Donkey Tail, the other three are mysteries. I think the back one with the Donkey Tail is a Bunny Ear cactus, the front left might be a Golden Barrel, and the front right could be an Old Man cactus.
Hopefully I can do a better job of keeping these bad boys alive. The succulents I got last year didn’t make it. I definitely over watered and over fertilized.
Also not the best photo but I didn’t want to over edit it. I wanted my new plant babies to look as natural as possible.

I know this isn’t a succulent picture but I spent the week at the beach and it’s the one place that always reminds me of how gorgeous this earth is. I need to travel more, but for now the beach is my freeing place. Happy earth day! 🌎🌍🌏🌊🌅

Have some real fun with your wedding or party styling! This styled shoot was inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and features lots of cute quirky little details: hanging teacups and teapots, green bunny rabbits, delicate cupcakes labelled "eat me", blue drink bottles labelled "drink me", and the most awesome Mad Hatter cake we've ever seen! It was a pleasure to create this #Wonderland setting, complete with lushly scented green wall, green grass floor, mossy table runner, and a wild garden of interesting & colourful plants - one of the most fun projects we've worked on!

Thinking of starting up a tip of the week every Sunday.. 🤔 so here goes the first one! I know a lot of people are hesitant to own ferns, especially maidenhair ferns. They are really beautiful though and so rewarding so I’ll help you out with this simple solution. 👍🏻 Use a glass bottle to water your maidenhair ferns. That’s it. Fill up the bottle, turn it over, and stick it into the dirt. They take what they need from the bottle and you won’t have to worry about under-watering. AND it looks super cool! (You’ll get comments on it for sure) Just check every few days if the bottle is low or empty and re-fill. They’ll love you & they’ll love the constant water flow 💜 I give this tip all the time to my customers who buy maidenhairs from me. It’s exactly what I do with mine at home.. except I’ve been using a beer bottle for mine, but definitely need to upgrade soon to a wine bottle as she goes through it within 2 days! #excusetobuymorewine 😜⠀

In celebration of Earth Day, here is one of my favorite murals in Oaxaca, Mexico. Although it sounds much more poetic in Spanish, it reads in English, "My pride is my root, corn." In Mexico, el maíz is not only a staple of the Mexican diet but has formed an integral part of Mexican culture and tradition for over 8,000 years. Sadly, the 50+ native corn varieties face threats of extinction from the planting of genetically modified seeds. For years The Corn Defense Alliance has been in heated legal disputes with companies like Monsanto, who look to bring GMO corn to Mexican fields. So far, a temporary ban on GMO planting has held strong however, there is no doubt that Monsanto has powerful guns and lots of resources.
