can‘t help posting pictures of beautiful Nizza...!
It's been 9 days since my last airplane photo... or maybe this is a sign photo? In that case, it's been 39 days since my last sign photo. Trust me, I counted. I showed my buddy this photo, and his immediate response was, "did you take one in focus?" I told him to, "eat a bag of dicks"... then we both laughed. Good times. @connectenglish
Monreal/Eifel, the medieval village centre with its numerous, lovingly restored, picturesque houses - typical Eifel half-timbered houses. The romantic and dreamy corners - a picture of past centuries. The protected location, embedded in the idyllic valley of the Elz. Monreal shows how identity is created by returning to the beautiful historical building fabric. Visitors can hardly resist the charm of the medieval village with its romantic corners and its picturesque location in the narrow Elz Valley, gracefully overlooked by the ruins of the Lion's Castle and Philippsburg Castle. Here we see St. John Nepomuk on the St. John Bridge. The bridge was built around 1500, the Nepomuk sculpture is a copy of the original by J. Matthias Büls from Monreal, which he modeled in 1803. ⠀⠀
Johannes Nepomuk was arrested and tortured in a dispute between Archbishop Johannes Jenstein of Prague and King Václav IV of Bohemia, together with other archbishop's officials, while the Archbishop himself managed to escape. As the highest ranking bishop's representative, Johannes Nepomuk was finally thrown from Charles Bridge into the Vltava River and drowned. According to legend, the corpse of the person floating in the water is said to have been surrounded by five flames, which is why John Nepomuk is often depicted with five stars around his head.⠀⠀

Oegstgeest🇳🇱: Aponogeton in my pond
It was my last full day in Iceland, but Bruarfoss was still on my bucket list of places I had to see. First, I had to find it. It was entirely worth the effort… and the mud!
I'm finally home, and started going through my photos from my trip. Here's one that immediatey popped out at me.
The Milky Way rising above the pinnacles of Bryce Canyon. This was taken at about 4:30am last Thursday, and is one exposure, at 17mm, ISO 1600, f/2.8 at 25 seconds. I used a dim flashlight to light up the foreground.
It was the darkest sky I've ever seen, and the Milky Way was very prominent, even with the naked eye.
Just after taking this shot, I was heading back up trail and heard a rustling in some bushes nearby. I was amazed to see a mountain lion stepping through the bushes, its eyes on me. I slowly backed away about a hundred feet, then ran up trail back to the parking lot. It was one of the scariest, yet most memorable experiences of my life!
I told a park ranger about it later, and he said it is very rare to see a mountain lion. I guess I got lucky!

One of my favorite pictures from one of my favorite places. The landscape on the Isle of Skye in Scotland was so dramatic and beautiful. 😍 #HappyEarthDay
