💪Place your palms where your sit bones where.
💪Step your feet up the wall.
💪And now walk your feet half way down and shift your hip forward over your shoulders. 💪press up through your shoulders, press your quads into your hanmstrings and deeply contact your core.

'Where do I even start.... My before was what spurred me on to getting in touch with Jesse. We were on a cruise and I was oblivious to how massive I'd become. We'd had a family photo session and professional photographer put this up on a giant projector screen and I was completely mortified, I actually asked "who is that????". Back in Brisbane, I looked up Jesse who I had trained with late in 2017. "I need your help" I told her. And the rest is history! Jesse whipped me into shape with an easy to follow meal plan and lots of support and guidance along the way. She's so good it's ridiculous, she is a wealth of information and knowledge and puts up with my abuse while she kicks my ass for 2 hours a week. This journey has been a personal favourite of mine! The determination and effort she has put in has blown me away. We're 10kgs down in 12 weeks and the weight is still dropping. You've probably heard the terms right or flight and rest and digest before. What these actually refer to are your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Stress ramps up our sympathetic system and can lead to more muscle tone and feelings of tension. Deep breathing will tone down the sympathetic system and ramp up the parasympathetic, getting you more into rest and digest mode and helping relax tense muscles.
The cat/cow is a wonderful exercise for spine health and movement, but most people move completely through the thoracic spine (midback). By adding a band, we can get your low back moving and feeling loosened up.
🔹️PRONE PRESS UP
Sometimes feelings of tightness in the back actually comes from spending a bunch of time in flexion. Think sitting at your desk or laying on your couch. And in that case, pushing into some extension can be exactly what the doctor ordered.
I like to use all 3 of these in sequence as a morning or nightly routine or even a post workout cool down. Try them out and see how that low back feels!

Sunday is typically my rest day. I may get in a hike with the family or clean the house but I don’t get in a structured workout. And if I’m being completely honest - it’s the day I struggle the most with anxiety. Not normally about anything specific but I’m just more jittery and more stressed. •
Today was one of those days. We purposefully had a low key morning because we knew my son’s 8th birthday party this afternoon would provide enough activity and energy. •
But, today was a day that I really appreciated the power of movement and acknowledged that I may be slightly addicted to the endorphin rush I get from exercise. I was blue and agitated all morning despite doing 8 loads of laundry. It wasn’t until I MOVED and chased nerf bullets and broke a sweat in a really hot indoor soccer venue that I was able to shake that icky feeling. •
So...those days you’re not feeling it. Those days it seems like it would be better to stay in bed or skip that workout - know that that rush is worth it and it will make you feel so strong and better once you get it in. #justmove
This girl is my hero. Trin @fitmodeltrin just won the "physically challenged" division at @icnqld rookies. She has #williamssyndrome , and all the confidence, strength, and willpower that I aspire to. I got all teary when she started crying on stage. She rose up to SMASH this challenge! #nailedit !
