Il lento avanti con i manubri impegna principalmente i muscoli: capo anteriore d/ el deltoide, parte del tricipite e sovraspinato; in modo secondario lavorano: capo laterale e posteriore del deltoide, petto, bicipite e trapezio.

Per una corretta esecuzione, sedersi su una panca leggermente inclinata, afferrare i manubri in posizione neutra davanti alla testa con il pollice rivolto verso il viso. Assunta la corretta posizione, spingere i manubri verso l’alto tenendo i gomiti perpendicolari (è importante ricordare di non iperestendere il braccio). Raggiunto il punto di massima estensione tornare in posizione di partenza, all’altezza della clavicola.

Questo è un ottimo esercizio per la zona anteriore del deltoide specialmente se si tengono i gomiti in direzione latero-diagonale. Se invece i gomiti sono completamente chiusi, quindi che puntano totalmente in avanti, si ha maggiore partecipazione del pettorale. Bisogna ricordare che la porzione anteriore del deltoide viene maggiormente allenata rispetto alla zona posteriore, specialmente per la sinergia che ha con gli altri muscoli ad esempio con il petto

Best feeling in the world... it’s like therapy for the mind!
Had a weekend full of ALL THE CHEATS I wanted, I didn’t restrict myself and I indulged multiple times. I have been going to the gym six days a week religiously for the past two months. I needed a break before I burnt myself out. I needed one weekend where I stayed out of the gym and off the scale, and so I did. I thought I would enjoy it but the truth is I love the lifestyle I live, being healthy makes me happy, it is my passion. Though I love food, the food I ate this weekend didn’t make me feel good. I thought I missed it like I was missing out on the things I used to love so much. That’s just not me anymore and I’m so glad. Tomorrow it is back to the gym, and going to try to go Keto this week. Even though my scale isn’t dropping as fast as I’d like, I have to remind myself that I’m not building a cardio body, this body is strong and has muscles and they are beautiful. Kicking it into full gear from this point on, gonna see what this body can really do!

'Where do I even start.... My before was what spurred me on to getting in touch with Jesse. We were on a cruise and I was oblivious to how massive I'd become. We'd had a family photo session and  professional photographer put this up on a giant projector screen and I was completely mortified, I actually asked "who is that????". Back in Brisbane, I looked up Jesse who I had trained with late in 2017. "I need your help" I told her. And the rest is history! Jesse whipped me into shape with an easy to follow meal plan and lots of support and guidance along the way. She's so good it's ridiculous, she is a wealth of information and knowledge and puts up with my abuse while she kicks my ass for 2 hours a week. My before was what spurred me on to getting in touch with Jesse. We were on a cruise and I was oblivious to how massive I'd become. We'd had a family photo session and professional photographer put this up on a giant projector screen and I was completely mortified, I actually asked "who is that????". Back in Brisbane, I looked up Jesse who I had trained with late in 2017. "I need your help" I told her. And the rest is history! Jesse whipped me into shape with an easy to follow meal plan and lots of support and guidance along the way. She's so good it's ridiculous, she is a wealth of information and knowledge and puts up with my abuse while she kicks my ass for 2 hours a week. 🔹️BREATHING
You've probably heard the terms right or flight and rest and digest before. What these actually refer to are your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Stress ramps up our sympathetic system and can lead to more muscle tone and feelings of tension. Deep breathing will tone down the sympathetic system and ramp up the parasympathetic, getting you more into rest and digest mode and helping relax tense muscles.

🔹️BANDED CAT/COW
The cat/cow is a wonderful exercise for spine health and movement, but most people move completely through the thoracic spine (midback). By adding a band, we can get your low back moving and feeling loosened up.

🔹️PRONE PRESS UP
Sometimes feelings of tightness in the back actually comes from spending a bunch of time in flexion. Think sitting at your desk or laying on your couch. And in that case, pushing into some extension can be exactly what the doctor ordered.

I like to use all 3 of these in sequence as a morning or nightly routine or even a post workout cool down. Try them out and see how that low back feels!

Sunday is typically my rest day. I may get in a hike with the family or clean the house but I don’t get in a structured workout. And if I’m being completely honest - it’s the day I struggle the most with anxiety. Not normally about anything specific but I’m just more jittery and more stressed. •
Today was one of those days. We purposefully had a low key morning because we knew my son’s 8th birthday party this afternoon would provide enough activity and energy. •
But, today was a day that I really appreciated the power of movement and acknowledged that I may be slightly addicted to the endorphin rush I get from exercise. I was blue and agitated all morning despite doing 8 loads of laundry. It wasn’t until I MOVED and chased nerf bullets and broke a sweat in a really hot indoor soccer venue that I was able to shake that icky feeling. •
So...those days you’re not feeling it. Those days it seems like it would be better to stay in bed or skip that workout - know that that rush is worth it and it will make you feel so strong and better once you get it in. #justmove
