This is a photograph of strength, resilience, and overcoming all odds when the odds are anything but in your favor. Sweet Alice, who turns one today, was born at 25 weeks and had a 50 to 75% chance of survival the moment she came into the world. Bruce and Mikaila, Alice’s parents, are two of my past clients. I met them three years ago while they were planning their wedding. I’ve been able to capture so many milestones for them, from their engagement, their wedding, pregnancy, college graduation, and now to their healthy daughter’s first birthday. Alice has some of the best parents, and seeing how positive they were through such a difficult time was so inspiring to watch. All three of the Mitchells are fighters, and today I got to celebrate and capture this sweet family on such a special day. ❤️
Hope anchors the soul. ⚓️ I decided to sneak out of the house to enjoy some fresh air and lunch. Still trying to stay stress free while I stay hopeful for good news. I've learned so much through my #ivfjourney . Right now I'm learning thr art of patience, and optimism. Let's make a rainbow 🌈💚
Imagine a world where everything is brighter, judgement is practically non- existent and if you're up for rule breaking then it is totally acceptable to smoke a joint and get high in the back streets behind a gay bar.
Well, imagine no more as that world is also known as West Hollywood, California.
A place where you get so caught up in the moment that you end up partying in the Hollywood Hills with a guy that is the doppelgänger of Ben Afleck, to later realise, once the booze has worn off (and the weed), that you actually drove in a 1998 Toyota with a guy that looks like a fat Rob Kardashian... My favorite thing about my home is EVERYTHING. The smell. The light. The air. The grass. The trees. The peacefulness. The creaks. The comfy. The love and laughter and memories held in every single room...miss you already @btaylor1112, wish you were here with us.
Do you have a favorite thing about your home (even if your home is wherever you are at the moment) tell me in the comments!!
Not quite the wisteria hysteria of London but its the best Lancaster had to offer! 🌸 It’s been a whirlwind 24hours at our work conference, with one too many shots of tequila and a few competitive games of pool. 😅 I’m very sad to be heading South again but ngl I am quite excited for a few days at home with my kitty cat and sorting out LOTS of life admin. When did I get so old pls? 👵🏼🤷♀️ Also yes I’m wearing polka dots again and no I’m not sure why my legs look two different colours in this 😑

Just a reminder for today while we’re all busy living our life.
Whether you were hurt as a child or carry hurt from bearing a child - use that seed and plant a new garden. ************************************************
This garden will become your new paradigm - a perspective you’ll use to heal and inspire others from to do the same. ***********************************************
It might take a while until you see those blossoms, but they will come - just like any other season (phase) in life.
If you’re new here or haven’t read my own childbirth stories and how I created the most positive birth after experiencing trauma - I invite you to read my first ever set of (sarcastic yet very honest) blog posts and follow my story ever after, linked in my bio.
One of my favorite products, besides Lipsense, is our color correcting tinted moisturizer (CCTM). If you’ve seen my stories, you’ve noticed I have this horrible habit of butchering the name 🙈 anywho, I don’t wear foundation on a normal basis but I DO wear this everyday! It feels like a moisturizer and gives me the perfect amount of coverage 💁🏻♀️ it also adjusts to your skin tone up and down to 3 shades AND it has an airless pump so you get every. last. drop. 💃 Hurrah! Hurray! 🤔 #CCTM#colorcorrectingtintedmoisturizer
As much as I love breakfast food, I sometimes struggle with feeling hungry enough to eat breakfast in between my morning coffee and lunch. So this month, I made a goal to eat a sustainable breakfast every morning. It sounds rather trivial, but what they say is true - It really is the most important meal of the day. With that being said, I am currently on a parfait kick, so send your favorite parfait combos my way!
My favorite parfait combo has been the simplest one yet. It only takes 30 seconds to throw together:
1️⃣ Vanilla Greek yogurt
2️⃣ Fresh berries
3️⃣ @Masonstbakehouse Super Seed & Fruit Granola
This flavor of granola is a delicious blend of pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds cranberries raisins and more yummy Non-GMO ingredients. I 10/10 recommend adding this or one of the other @masonstbakehouse flavors to your breakfast rotations! #sponsored#masonstbakehouse 🍓🍓
What is your current go-to breakfast?!
One of the biggest lessons that I have learned through counselling youth is how valuable it is to set boundaries and stay regulated while doing so. When we are calm in the presence of chaos those around us are often invited to join our calm... but it can be INCREDIBLY easy to accept someone’s invitation to join their chaos... particularly family members or significant others... because they know exactly which buttons to push. Emotions move us. When we become dysregulated (angry, sad, stressed, etc.) and are unable to modulate emotional and behavioural responses we often make choices that stray from our values. Consequently, I believe that it is hugely important that we reflect on what we need to do to fill our proverbial gas tanks every single day. For me, a big priority is to ‘invest in rest’, which often involves laying down for a few minutes when I get home from my placement and watching a Youtube video or doing a meditation before I do whatever is next on my to-do list. When I ignore my body or my mind’s warning signs that something is askew - and I need a moment to myself to rest - it impacts every area of my life in big and small ways. Today I challenge you to think about which activities ‘fill your gas tank’ and what you can do day-to-day to feel more regulated and in control of your reactions. Stanley here needs at least one walk per day and adequate cuddle time (and his fave treats - carrots and bananas - if I’m being completely honest) or he is a big grumpy drama queen! 👑
Had such a lovely time over on Whidbey Island for a Nike campaign shoot the last two days. How picturesque! If you’ve been following along on my stories, you can see more! If you’re in the area and have never been, I highly recommend a stay at The Captain Whidbey Inn, a food stop at Toby’s for some fresh mussels or fish of the day and to trip over to check out Fort Casey. A big round of applause for all, I’ll for sure be back.
HELLO SUMMER! ☀️It’s my first official day of summer and I slept in, drank my hot ☕️(usually I get a couple good sips and then drink Luke warm coffee... yuck!), and I’m wearing a cute outfit (all from @target and the cutest little boutique in #chicago ) and I’m meeting a friend for lunch!!! WINNING!!! 🙌🏻🎉❤️ •
What’s happening for you on this fine Wednesday????
It has been for-e-ver since I’ve posted anything new on the blog but I’m back today with a tutorial for this diy All-Natural Lavender Citrus Perfume Oil ✨ I’ve made several different blends already and the possibilities are endless! #linkinprofile
“When my spirit grows faint within me, ⠀
it is you who watch over my way. ⠀
In the path where I walk ⠀
people have hidden a snare for me. ⠀
Look and see, ⠀
there is no one at my right hand; ⠀
no one is concerned for me. ⠀
I have no refuge; ⠀
no one cares for my life. ⠀
I cry to you, Lord; ⠀
I say, “You are my refuge,⠀
my portion in the land of the living.””⠀
Psalm 142:3-5 NIV⠀
Okay, I don’t want to sound like a crazy person, but this is INCREDIBLE. ⠀
David was a normal human being. Yes, he was a King and a man after God’s own heart, but he got distracted and sinned and struggled like a normal human because he was one!⠀
Here’s what I found incredible this morning as I was reading this: the fact that David admitted that God was watching over his way, but when he looked around him he realized that there was absolutely no one there for him. No one was concerned, he had no refuge, and no one cared for his life. Completely alone. He became distracted, and had sought out refuge and comfort in something other that God and realized that there was so comfort to be found!⠀
Only after looking around him and seeing that he was alone and needy did he cry out ”YOU are my refuge and portion in the land of the living!” He realized God was the only safe place that never faltered, grew weary, or disappeared. God was the only One going 100% FOR HIM. ⠀
I am an incredibly distractible person. I constantly seek out distractions, seek other people as a refuge, and seek satisfaction in material things. But so did David! I’m not trying to justify those things, but sometimes it is just so encouraging to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Great men of the Bible who talked with God struggled with the same things as you.⠀
That’s freaking cool. ⠀
Okay, that’s all I wanted to say. Have a great day! 😁⠀
Happy Hump Day gus!! 🐪I'm super elated today cuz my exams are over!! 💃🏻Yusss I'll get to sleep in more! *phew* 😂
I'm so excited to catch with all the Instagram jazz! How's everyone's week going on tho?
There’s a lot I don’t have figured out but judas priest, what would I do without you? You’re a quiet tree, filled with the deep contentment of knowing who you are and the simple joy of knowing what you want. I’m a quiet fire, stubborn and hard to manage, changing direction with the wind. No one thinks much of us on our own but together we could bring down a forest or simply warm our own hearth.
Sometimes I wonder if we met today, would we still fall in love? Or would the tree be too rooted and the fire too out of control, causing destruction rather than signaling safety?
So I’m glad we grew up together. That you know me. That you fueled and shaped the fire rather than trying to contain it, even when you got burned. And I promise to keep you warm as long as you promise to fuel the flame.
Here’s to nearly eight years of burning love.
"4 years later the office still looks amazing! Each day new and existing patients will say something along the lines of "I love the design of this office" or "Who designed it? It looks so fun!" I personally have so much enjoyment going to work each day being able to improve people's self-esteem and confidence in an inspiring space that communicates my vision. Thank you so much!"
We love hearing amazing feedback from our clients! 💙Shoutout to our designer Bri, the creative force behind this orthodontics office project. 🎉 And, the project won a special #ASID award equivalent of a “perfect score”, something they had not give out before! #barbourspangleproject#bewhereyoulovetobe
Every year all artichokes got together to celebrate Arti-Love Festival in Florida.
Artichokes would joke poking each other and see who would laugh at first.
One of them was coming from Greece, Jochefa, she was very exhausted from such a long trip, but she was pleased to see that it was all worth it once she saw all artichokes gathering together.
She didn't know anyone at the festival, but Jochefa was eager to make new friends.
One of the artichokes approached Jochefa and asked her where was she from. But Jochefa didn't understand since she didn't speak a word of English.
The artichoke lady had a hard time understanding her language and didn't have much patience, so she left.
Immediately Jochefa started to recluse herself towards the corner trees where nobody could see her. She went from excitement mood to frustration and sadness in a short amount of time.
Meanwhile, an Egyptian Artichoke called Neferchok couldn't stop noticing her from her lemonade stand.
So she slowly started to walk towards Jochefa with the intention of helping her.
When Neferchok was in front of Jochefa, she couldn't even ask anything. There was a contagious cloud of sadness and she wanted to cry along with her.
But then she realized that by being sad with her was going to be worse.
Then she took a deep breathe, looked at the sky and hugged Jochefa without even saying a word.
Neferchok smiled at Jochefa and took her to a steam room for her to relax and have a good time.
Jochefa's mood started to change almost instantly, her glaucous-green leaves were turning brown and soft. She was feeling alive and exquisite.
And for the first time didn't care about any language. She was feeling so happy that started to speak towards Neferchok in Greek even though her new friend couldn't understand her. But words were not necessary, Love was present and both of them were dancing, laughing and poking at each other.
It only takes one push from someone or even from something that we see, read or hear to change our mood.
Let's all find that "steam room" of relaxation in our lives, and take life less serious so we can laugh almost all the time.
You have to hop on a plane to Kona #hawaii , drive to the southern most tip of the US, hike 2.5 miles or get in the back of an off road truck for $15, climb down a steep lava cliff (as pictured) to get to a remote out of this world green sand beach, One of two in the #unitedstates . 💚 And of course, I had to take on this trip in a cute dress from @aeropostale 😬 #wherejamgoes
