From the trail to tuxedo, I’m so proud of my man for having hiked nearly 400 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail and having the strength and determination to get back out there with the goal of finishing the 2600 mile hike from Mexico to Canada. You are so amazing and I’m grateful to be able to support you and that I was able to spend a few days with you while you were back for your cousins wedding. ❤️ #pcthiker#pacificcresttrail#wedding#keepthebeardgrowing#adventurous#love

This sunrise view of Lassen Peak from Cinder Cone is one of our favorite side-trips from the #pacificcresttrail . It’s a 3-mile hike to the east, but the views from the top of the cone are some of the best in @lassennps . Photo: @boyfriday
We’re well into spring, so it’s time to bring back #WildflowerWednesday . Seen on the PCT today, this totally tubular blossom is Honeysuckle (lonicera ciliosa). Flower clusters are orange to red in color, and sprout from the center of a single, fused leaf. This somewhat uncommon specimen can be found in a few low- and mid-elevation forest and shrubby areas, typically from mid-spring to early summer. Look for them on the trail in the Columbia River Gorge.
