The prompt by @butiyoga for day 6 of the #dare2barechallenge said this:
“RITUAL. These days it can be challenging to find true STILLNESS. Life is busy. Technology is literally EVERYWHERE. Do you have a ritual that keeps you grounded and connected with nature? Post a picture in the yoga pose that you feel GROUNDS you the most and tell us about your ritual in the caption.”
I couldn’t get out and go hiking today, which is one of my favorite ways to feel grounded, but being in the garden is another favorite. After a long day of hearing “mom, mom, mom” all day long, one of my very favorite rituals is going out and watering my #vegetablegarden in the sunset hours- barefoot, of course. It’s quiet and peaceful, and I’m able to reflect for a few moments. I also love knowing I’m growing organic, heirloom veggies for my family to enjoy.
I don’t usually do yoga in the garden (especially when my yard needs mowed this badly), but for the second part of the challenge I was supposed to post a picture of the pose that grounds me the most. Warrior II is my absolute favorite for feeling strong, stable, and grounded. I won’t be an Instagram yogi anytime soon, but I might start doing yoga in the garden more often.
